Both my leads are now going south. I'm scheduled for lead extraction Jan. 5. A coupe of the people running the tests mentioned that the pain would be a lot worse than in the past since there would be scar tissue and the removing of the 4 leads. My first pacemakers were on my right side. Pacemaker now on left side. If I had it to do over I would have left the pacemaker on right side since those leads were still working great.
I had the usual swelli...

I recently posted about my pacemaker wound not healing.
I went back to the hospital yesterday to have it looked at again, they have cleaned it up and put a different type of plaster on.
I was told if it doesnt start to heal by the start of next week, they will have to take the pacemaker out and put it in the other side, this time stitching the wound up. This means the wires will have to come out and a whole new pacemaker put it again.
Has anyone had this problem. Its coming...

Hi All,
Ive had my pacemaker in for 15 days now and the scar is just not healing.
It was orginally glued which opened up after 5 days. My doctors left the dressing off at my wound check (7 days after input).
I ended up back at the hospital yesterday as 2 stitches had pushed through the wound. The doctor then cleaned the wound up, tried to close it together abit with steri strips and then put a honeycomb plaster over it. He said to keep it covered until my next appointm...

First, i confess to being relatively techno-disabled so i have not figured out how to post a comment that responds to or follows the comment trail that resulted from my original post on 10/16. Second, i mostly really wanted to thank all of you who offered comments about questions i had about my then upcoming surgery and the issues i thought i would face in the next 7-10 days after. here then is a brief update on life post-surgery on 10/20:
1. Dual chamber pacemaker (Biotronik) -- 2-hour...

I am on day 14 after surgery but it feels like my pm moves around or something. One time I will look at it or feel it to the touch and it is very noticable and then a few hours later it is almost like it isn't even there. It is a Boston Scientific.
Has anyone else ever felt this way?
Sorry if this is a crazy question because it does sound like it to me. Feel silly even asking about it.
Thanks
Tammy

Hi,
I had a pacemaker fitted on Thursday and since then I have been having a prickly type pain in my shoulder above the insertion site and part of my shoulder and arm is numb. The insertion site itself is fine and not too painful, just a bit bruised. This prickling type pain is really getting me down. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks

Who is best qualified to choose the type and do the replacement? When I first had the pacemaker placed, it was an electrophysiologist ands he chose Boston Scientific. It was an emergency situation, I was out of state. Now I am about to have it replaced and my cardiologist wants to just use the same brand all his patients have and says I don't need an electrophysiologist, that a general surgeon will do it. I'm confused. HAs anyone had their replaced by a general surgeon or changing bra...

Today I tried to venture out of my home for something other than a doctors visit. I have been so fatigued and figured since I was 13 days post PM insertion I would give it a try.
Hubby drove to the local Sam's to pickup his prescriptions. I used a cane, went slowly and all went fine.
He then drove to Walmart and I had my eyebrows arched. We then walked to the middle of the store to buy me some large t-shirts to sleep in.
I began to feel very weak.  ...

Hi! I'm a new member....had my pacer put in June 1 2016. Since then I find it uncomfortable to wear a bra or anything that rubs against the scar. Will this go away? Has anyone tried that bra strap attachment? It's seems very pricey to me. Thanks!

I have far too many questions and anxieties to burden you with or hope to have answered, but I would welcome any guidance and/or tips about what to expect the first 7-10 days of recovery to be like and how to handle the most common challenges.
Medical staff have told me only that this is "routine"; must limit activity and arm movements so not disturb leads; do not drive or lift, etc. so, can you walk and exercise? How do you keep arm level and sleep, wash hair? How keep wound...

I had a two lead biotroniks pacemaker inserted 10 days ago. I was told that I would receive a monitor via mail in 7-10 days. My doc asked me this week if I had received my monitor. I was put on a beta blocker for arrythmias. He said that as soon as I received my monitor to send a transmittal.
I called Biotroniks today and was told the rep had not ordered one. They are going to send me out one next week.
Problem is that I don't have a l...

Had my pacemaker put in on Wednesday and all is going good. Alot more sore than I was expecting but I know that will pass soon. Just relieved the surgery is over. They checked before I left and said it is working 76 percent of the time so I know I made the right decision in having it done. Can't wait to start having more energy and not feeling tired all the time and loopy.
