Today I tried to venture out of my home for something other than a doctors visit. I have been so fatigued and figured since I was 13 days post PM insertion I would give it a try.
Hubby drove to the local Sam's to pickup his prescriptions. I used a cane, went slowly and all went fine.
He then drove to Walmart and I had my eyebrows arched. We then walked to the middle of the store to buy me some large t-shirts to sleep in.
I began to feel very weak. I found a bench to sit on. I was sweating. In about 10 minutes I felt I could make it to the car with hubby and cane. He then went back and purchased the t-shirts - end of adventure.
Anyone else experience a similar experience trying to return to normalcy?

I was really tired at first too. You are still pretty early yet. Dont get discouraged. Just make your outings brief. Make sure you are eating and drinking enough. Dont hesisitate to call the office and tell them your symptoms. They can have you send a transmission to check things out.

I don't want to be an alarmist, but the weakness combined with sweating can be symptoms that accompany cardiac arrest or other heart problems not necessarily related to your PM. Women especially do not have the classic symptoms associated with cardiac arrest. I had symptoms similar to yours and ignored them. I just took deep breaths and two aspirations and eventually felt better. I had trouble with lingering weakness after that and low an behold then started developing troublesome arrythmias. That sent me to a cardiologist and on hearing my symptoms he became very concerned and wondered if the incident had happened recently enough that they could draw blood and check for the markers that are present after a heart attack. Too much time had elapsed. So, I am suggesting a call to your cardiolofist explaining your symptoms to see if he wants to check you out. Most women are reluctant to "make a fuss". Me too. I just ignored everything and hoped I would get better. That was irresponsible on my part. Please call your cardiologist. Better safe that sorry, or worse.
Settings?

You should also talk to your EP/Cardiologist about your settings both for minumum and rate response. These can make a big difference to how you feel.
It is normal to have them tweak these a couple of times before you find the right settings. Normally it is done during your first checkups.
I had to have my rate response adjusted twice before I started to feel fine when out and about or with mild exertion.

I had some fatigue , weakness . I took naps and rested everyday. After three weeks of this I knew I wanted to feel better sooner than later so I found the Cardiac Rehab department in our local hospital. I went to visit and found the doctors and nurses very encouraging, kind and watchful over all of the people who are in rehab. I asked my doctor for permission to join and I got it. I have been going there about three times a week and it has helped me gain back a lot of my stamina, confidence and feeling of well-being. I have been attending for three months now and I feel a great difference. I urge you to seek out help. Good Luck to you
