I had a two lead biotroniks pacemaker inserted 10 days ago. I was told that I would receive a monitor via mail in 7-10 days. My doc asked me this week if I had received my monitor. I was put on a beta blocker for arrythmias. He said that as soon as I received my monitor to send a transmittal.
I called Biotroniks today and was told the rep had not ordered one. They are going to send me out one next week.
Problem is that I don't have a landline and their transmissions are over T-mobile. I live in a decent size city but T-mobiles map shows poor coverage outside of my home and none inside.
Has anyone run into this problem? What happens when we travel? Pretty nerve racking to me.
Thanks for your input.

i have a Biotronik Eluna. I was given a Cardio Messenger when I left the hospital. I just plug it into electric receptacle and it automatically sends a report nightly. If I have a flagged event at anytime, it alerts the doctor and Biotronik rep. I have no idea how it works. I was under the impression that all Biotronik PM's used CardioMessenger. Hardly anyone has landlines anymore.

You know you're wired when...
You have a dymo-powered bike.

Pacemakers are very reliable devices.

I also have a Biotronik, but the ICD. I have not been able to find a way to force a transmission from my monitor. It automatically transmits every night and as soon as I get within range of the home monitor if it has been required to take some action.
Several months ago I stood up and felt extremely dizzy. Leaned against the frig for about 30 seconds then felt fine. About an hour later I got a call from my Cardiologist's office asking if I felt OK. The device had paced me out of V-Tach, then "phoned home" to tell them about the incident. Biotronik then sent a text message to my Device Tech who called to check on me.
