I recently posted about my pacemaker wound not healing.
I went back to the hospital yesterday to have it looked at again, they have cleaned it up and put a different type of plaster on.
I was told if it doesnt start to heal by the start of next week, they will have to take the pacemaker out and put it in the other side, this time stitching the wound up. This means the wires will have to come out and a whole new pacemaker put it again.
Has anyone had this problem. Its coming up to 3 weeks since Ive had my first pacemaker put in and im not coping well with this one nevermind having to have it all done again - is there anything I can do to help the wound heal - I.e I was told not to move my arm as much.
Thank in advance!

Thank you both.
Will definately try the vit supplements. I constantly feel like its my fault its not healing. I have done everything they have asked but its just not healing!
Hopefully it will start to heal soon!

I wasn't really self-conscious about it. I didn't even know I had one until around six or seven years old. I just thought I had a rock in my side.

I'm sure the thought of having the PM taken out and replaced holds no charm for you.
You might try adding a vitamin C supplement. Your body needs vitamin C to fight inflamation and is to make collagen which it will need to grow the tissue to close the wound.
Can't hurt; might help.
