Dressing

The dressing you are describing seems to be a dressing that is to remain in place until the doctor or one of his staff remove it. Mine was left on for 8 days, removed by his staff and steri-strips applied. By leaving a non-removable occlusive dressing on for a week or so has greatly decreased the risk of infection.
If you can see drainage behind the dressing, have a family member outline the area with a pen or sharpie. If it doesn't change in size it is most likely from the surgery. If the area grows in size, contact your MD.
PS - I am a newbie to having a PM and having this unexpected personal experience, but I am an RN and have taken care of many patient's that have returned home with one.
Hope that helps you.

Don't Touch Anything Else

It's only been 2 days! You need to keep the incision covered so that no germs, bacteria, etc. get into your body. If you are going to see the doctor next week.....wait until then. I didn't see the doctor until 3 weeks later. Let him take it off.
Dried blood is normal....that's what you want.
Don't touch!!
