Get back to the doctor!

You need to be 100% sure it's just a hematoma and not an infection. I'm no expert, but I don't think hematomas get hot, infection does. Ask for cultures. If it is infection, it needs to be taken very seriously and treated very aggressively. This means cultures to be sure you are on the right antibiotic asap. Don't let them send you home with a prescription and give it a week (or whatever). This is common but that week can mean the difference between getting it under control and another surgery to take everything out, treat the infection, then a third surgery after you heal to start all over again. I don't mean to worry you or be overly dramatic, but we've seen too many members start off laid back about treating it and end up having it removed. Good luck!!!! Fingers crossed it's just a hematoma. Can they drain it if it's not healing and feeling better?

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.
