Hi,
I had a pacemaker fitted on Thursday and since then I have been having a prickly type pain in my shoulder above the insertion site and part of my shoulder and arm is numb. The insertion site itself is fine and not too painful, just a bit bruised. This prickling type pain is really getting me down. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks

Thank you Beckiiejayne for such a quick reply. I guess I was expecting some pain but this prickly pain is driving me mad. You are right it is absolutely fine and no pain at all when I don't move my arm! I'm glad you are feeling better - guess I just need to learn to be patient!!
Thanks

Thanks for your replies - pain has definitely eased up now. As it is school holidays this week we have gone away with the kids and the dog in a caravan for a few days so lots of fresh air and walks - now that the pain is easing I guess I just need to make sure I don't over do it 😀

Shoulder pain!

Hey,
Ive had my pacemaker in for 8 days now. The first 3 days were awful. I couldnt do a thing by mysef because my shoulder was just so painful. I couldnt lift myself up, I couldnt brush my hair, it was horrible.
8 days on and Im a million times better. The pain has eased however the pacemaker does make my shoulder feel really heavy at the moment, which I have read is a normal thing.
Just try and put up with it for a few more days and see if it eases, it did with me so hopefully will with you to! Let people help you with everything, even if you think its a small job your doing. everything can cause pain, no matter how small the job is, you need to totally rest with it for the pain to ease up.
Hope this helps!
