Wearing suspenders - discomfort - solutions?

I've had my PM for 6 months now and except for 2 things all is well (with my PM at least) - still not comfortable sleeping on my left side; and not being able to wear suspenders comfortably.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had an issue with wearing suspenders and what has worked for them?

The problem for me is that the movement of the suspenders (these are wide, elastic type) irritate the skin over the PM which makes wearing them unpleasant for any length of time.

Kidney stones

I was wondering if anyone with a device has had a kidney stone and how was it treated ? I have read that shock wave lithotripsy is not recommended with a cardiac device.

Thanks

Accident

hi all.  Had a serious fall today.  Split lip, swollen chin and jaw, arm, leg and left side collar bone all bruised and sore.  So far no ill effects from pacemaker, but wondering if I should have it checked as it is directly below collar bone.  Or should I just be happy my heart seems to be doing just  fine, (since my last adjustment a couple weeks ago.). What happened today is I was going to take hold of a steel outdoor railing when I tripped and my face landed in th...

stabbing sensations

Hello. I received a Boston Scientific defibrillator/pacer 2 months ago. I just felt 3 mild stabbing sensations OVER THE DEVICE. Would that be therapy for a pacing event, or would I have felt it in the heart region? Thank you. I am new to this site
about an hour ago

Or is it totally unrelated

Hello to my fellow PM friends

I cannot believe that the last posting I made was 3 years ago!  Life has been good, dispite minor ups and downs, my blessing too numerous to mention.  My husband and I have travelled from Africa across to America for a 6 week memorable holiday!  Went to LA, wondered around Hollywood, took a small wager away with me from Vegas (ha!) marvelled at the mystical beauty of the Grand Canyons. Drank to much read wine in San Diego. Was disappointed by the many homeless people in San Fra...

80 bpm rate set up produced heart failure during more than a year

Hey, I'm french and this story is about my mother, now 76 years old.

She has a pacemaker since september 2014. The cardiologist set it at 80 bpm for 2 months.

But he never slow it to 65-70 bmp as he said in august 2014. My mother developped heart-failure, and consequently an important pulmonary edema. She met his cardiologist many times, but he did nothing despite of insistent complaints. Finally my mother was waiting for her death to be issued for his suffering.

She tol...

Should I get a pacemaker at 22

I'm 22 years old and I have inappropriate sinus tachycardia.  Several times a day my heart rate jumps to the 190s on it's own and it's at random times, like when I'm cooking dinner or watching tv.  Sometimes I get really sick because of it and other times I don't notice it at all.  With that though, my heart gets really fast every time I workout or go up a flight of stairs and I get light headed, which is unfortunate because I am studying to be a personal tr...

Pvc and extra beats

Hi everyone 14 weeks after having a pm for 2nd degree heart block. I couldn't understand with all the tweaks why at the same time every night I could feel extra beats sometimes they were intense and lasted all night and I was exhausted the next day. Recently I had a 24 hr holt monitor which showed I had 100 extra beats at 9pm and so on until 8am the next day. I still thought it was the pm as I'd never had this before. My nurse told me all the pm self checks are off so always get them...

Bradycardia - Should I get a PM

Im 32 yrs old, have general good health. Diagnosed with Sinus Bradycardia a few months ago. Side effects of pacemaker?

Me again with more questions.  :)

Since getting my pacemaker for heart block due to ablation for SVT that went sideways, I have tinnitus and I get weird daily headaches - a headache that comes out of nowhere and disappears just as fast, often with no pain meds.  I also often feel light headed.

My resting heart rate is generally between 70 and 80, and I work out at least three times a week.  I am not on any medication.

I have suggested to the doc that my...

AV Node Ablation

Hi there, I had a pacemaker implanted in Dec 2014 due to an ablation for SVT that went sideways and cause heart block.

I often have palpitations that really bug me.  Two cardiologists have suggested that I have my AV node ablated and this would go away.  I would then be 100% dependent on my pacemaker ... I hate the palpitations, but purposely becoming 100% dependent on my pacemaker seems extreme ...

Does anyone have any additional insight for me?

Long QT - Newbie!

Hello everyone :-)

After suffering a cardiac arrest in Dec 2015 I was diagnosed with Long QT and had an ICD implanted just a few days later. I know that Long QT isn't the most common of cardiac conditions and am struggling to find anyone else with the same diagnosis! I'm hoping that someone here has the same condition and can share their experience?

looking for an alternative to a PM, need help

Good day all. I have been told I need a pacemaker for fainting spells which happen every couple months. This has great consequences for me and my carreer that I wont get into. I am trying to find any information on alternatives available or relative med articles. Some background: 39 years old and in good shape. Did an Olympic triathlon and 2 half marathons this spring. No alcohol, drugs, ect. When I pass out it is ALWAYS in the morning time and frequently the day after I have not done a good...

Another newbie

Hi all!  I came across this forum while Googling for info on Pacemakers. I am tentatively scheduled to get my PM 7/8/16.  While I am nervous about the whole thing, reading the posts on this forum has been reassuring (for the most part!).

Do you all have any advice on things you wish you knew to ask prior to your procedure?

My story: About 10 months ago it was discovered that several family members (including me) have genetic long QT syndrome.  ECG showed sligh...

Coughing up a TINY bit of blood

Hello Fellow Pacers.

I've coughed up a bit of blood from time to time since getting my PM.  It is just a tiny bit and always mixed with mucous.  I was initially told that this was from taking blood thinners; even baby aspirin can have that affect.

I'm off all those meds (even baby aspirin) but the past few days it's been happening again.  ...
