Hello. I received a Boston Scientific defibrillator/pacer 2 months ago. I just felt 3 mild stabbing sensations OVER THE DEVICE. Would that be therapy for a pacing event, or would I have felt it in the heart region? Thank you. I am new to this site
about an hour ago
Or is it totally unrelated

If you want to know what pacing feels like, ask the Tech the next time you go for an interrogation. They generally check the pacing abilities of your device on each visit, just ask him/her to let you know when they are doing that check.
I can definitely tell when they are doing it. My first week home after implant I woke up with a very strange feeling in my chest. By the time I was really awake enough to concentrate on it, the feeling had gone. The next week I was at my first interrogation and there was that feeling again! The Device Tech explained that she was testing it and it was programmed to test itself each week and report remotely. She changed the setting to test each month so I wouldn't be awakened each week. Now, I don't even notice it.

i have had pulsating mild pain between my breasts sometimes proceeded by hard thumps. I'm wondering if that is the pacing. I will see my EP tomorrow and ask him. Have had PM 2 weeks tomorrow.

We can get stabbing, burning and/or aching as the nerves knit back together and scar tissue builds around the device. Ice or heat can help, try both and see which feels better. You should not feel the pacing, tho occasionally some say they can feel it in the heart.
