Hi everyone 14 weeks after having a pm for 2nd degree heart block. I couldn't understand with all the tweaks why at the same time every night I could feel extra beats sometimes they were intense and lasted all night and I was exhausted the next day. Recently I had a 24 hr holt monitor which showed I had 100 extra beats at 9pm and so on until 8am the next day. I still thought it was the pm as I'd never had this before. My nurse told me all the pm self checks are off so always get them turned off as they make it worse. Most pm have night time modes so I had mine turned down to 30bpm with my pm only kick in when it sense long gaps between my beats. So it was my own heart now giving me extra beats how was I to cope with this. I could take beta blockers but then they have side effects especially as I do lots of exercise my rate response would need to put on. I decided to take control so when I feel them I try not to panic breath deep hold lift the chest up. Stay calm do relaxation take control. Get your heart rate up by jumping on a stationary bike for 3mins or dance around the room. This ease mine so much so far I've slept better. See Pvc support group uk it's amazing what others go through experiencing these and they don't have pacemakers. Mine gave me extra beats because it use to kick in when I had drop beats. Now pm does that it still thinks it has too. Muscle memory? I'm not sure. Could be hormonal and stress too. I'm taking magnesium every other day to see if that helps. No coffee and stimulants in the afternoon. These extra beats go right up into your throat and can make you feel sick if you don't know what they are. So I've told my heart I'm taking control and pm I don't feel. Hope this helps many of you out there. Don't just live with it understand why it's happening read what others say. Get 24 holt check. Stay positive and believe your head can rule your heart. Pvc's are not dangerous but can be annoying.

PVC's

I have big problems with pvc's from time to time. I have a CRT-D and have had an ablation so I think sometimes the pvc's are the result of stress. I'm scheduled for a bilateral breast biopsy next week so my pvc's are pretty rampant right now. Sometimes I seem to have them for no reason and sometimes I can blame too much caffeine. So glad yours are gone now.

PVC's can be strange. I was having a big problem with PVC's. So bad they had a hard time with my last stress test. So bad that my EP was talking about a PVC ablation. So bad at night that I took a Flecained at night because I couldn't sleep. I felt pretty bad a times. Then all of a sudden it stopped. No one seems to know why. But they did and I'm very happy with that.
Good luck to you!
