My pacemaker was implanted a month ago. I have had several episodes today. Hard to describe, certainly not the feelings of fainting but weird. It's almost like I would be experiencing the same symptoms on they stop short. I am assuming it's because the pacer does it's job. Is this normal as it's early in the process, I have recorded this for reference if I need to describe at some point. Thanks!

...................apologies to those who might think this posting ' off subject'.
But.
The passing of the legend that is / was..Lou Reed ,is a major loss to a generation that broke more ground than others that ( tried ) to follow.
I just know that, here on PMC, there are those ,who, may well have ,'walked on the wild side'
Lou was , just 71,..no age,..but with a creative legacy that none can dismiss....
I saw Reed at Leicester De Mont...

New to the forum, I don't even have a formal diagnosis yet, just trying to think ahead. I'm 60 years old, male, fairly fit. My bradycardia just popped up four or five days ago. I now have a resting heart rate of 40-43 when it was 65-70 a couple weeks ago. And during cardio exercise my heartbeat now gets up only to 72-75 when it used to reach 115-125 at the same effort level. I huff and and puff walking up hills with dizziness which goes away when I stop and sit down. I'm scheduled for an EKG...

Hi all. I have a question that I would like to ask and any advise will be received with gratitude.
I "caught" a flu/cold bug flying back by air about 6 weeks ago. Unfortunately it went to my chest and as I was running a high fever I eventually had to have a strong antibiotic to help overcome it. . . this seemed to help, but not completely. I still have an irritating cough and my nose runs inconsistently!! I get this tickle at the base of my throat which can set me off coughing, almost l...

(This is just too funny - scary how true it is!!!)
If my body was a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull...
But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things e...

Hi, I had a pacemaker "installed' last week. Since yesterday, though, every time I get up from the chair and walk my heart really thumps. Thought it would go away. I will call the dr. tomorrow. Or should I tonite? I just don't want to end up in the emergency room again in the middle of the nite. I was wondering if this was cause by staring at five monitors and having three computers around me.

Hello all- hope everyone is having a good friday. Since my procedure 3 weeks ago, I have had extremely cold extremities, especially in my hands. I've been torturing my dog with attempting to warm my hands:) i never sleep with much on, however I'm now sleeping in sweats, huge socks, an extra blanket and heat cranked up. I probably should not complain, since I used to suffer from awful hot flashes. I do find it very bothersome, and annoying. While driving I crank up the heated seats and rotate si...

St. Jude has received approval to start a pivotal trial of the device in the US. Check out the article www.medpagetoday.com/Cardiology/Arrhythmias/42392?utm_source=cardiodaily. This was sent to me by the American Heart Association.
Hope you enjoy.

Hi all my wonderful pacemaker peeps! I went to the ectro doc yesterday about the pain I was experiancing 6 months after implantation. Had an x ray and echo done all is looking great the only problem the pacemaker is most def rubbing against my bone and muscle, since he placed the pacemaker in my fatty tissue but I have lost weight so there is not padding to protect the pacemaker. At the end of November I will be having surgery to place the pacemaker under the muscle so I won't be having any more...

Does anyone know the name of the procedure for a pacemaker implant using horizontal arteries? Most implant patients have vertical arteries. My implant had to be installed using the horizontal method with special wires, special tools and even special technique...only no one ever told me the name of the procedure. Many thanks

Several months ago, some one of you posted that you had gone to Billings Clinic. If you are that person (or anyone else who goes to Billings) and see this, will you please post a response or contact me privately? Thanks.

I finally received my cellphone transmitter in the mail today!!! I hooked everything up the darn thing took forever but did blink showing 3G connection. I was reading that it will do a nightly ready that is pre programmed by your cardiologist. My sleeping habits are terrible, and I was curious if anyone knew around what time at night they are usually set to do the automatic readings? Half the time I'm still farting around in the office or living room at midnight. I was at the cardiologist today...

I have had my PM for about a 1 1/2 years. Everything is going fine but I finally have a question that my Cardio Doctor can't answer. My first three PM reports show several thousand Afibs
on each report.
Now the last two reports show only 1 Afib and 3 Afibs.
Any ideas????
Thanks, Clarencio

I have been meaning to post this for awhile (can you tell I was raised in a Dutch area:); however I kept forgetting. I found my ice packs to be very uncomfortable- either they were to hard, or too heavy. I made my own for the weight I felt comfortable with. Freeze baggies of rubbing alcohol.... They turn to slushies and work great- also way cheaper!!! Happy healing!

My mother had the PM3210 pacemaker place in her back in 2013, but to this day she still feels the area where the pacemaker is placed tender. Is this common?
This past weekend she went to the ER because she had severe chest pain. Dr. in the ER said her vitals were normal and she didn't have a heartattack, however, she still feels some pain around the area where the pacermake is placed. Has anyone out there experience this type of problem? If so, what did the doctor tell you about it? What c...

My Cardiologist said I need to drink 6-8oz of water, juice, or sports drinks an hour. I understand staying hydrated but does this seem excessive? Sleep is also important and I have been getting up 2-3 times a night to use the bathroom. Was anyone else told to drink this much?
