Chest discomfort

My mother had the PM3210 pacemaker place in her back in 2013, but to this day she still feels the area where the pacemaker is placed tender. Is this common?
This past weekend she went to the ER because she had severe chest pain. Dr. in the ER said her vitals were normal and she didn't have a heartattack, however, she still feels some pain around the area where the pacermake is placed. Has anyone out there experience this type of problem? If so, what did the doctor tell you about it? What can be done to aleviate the pain?

I had some discomfort

by janetinak - 2013-10-22 03:10:31

with my 1st PM (in 2000) & was told that was to be expected as site had to heal. It varied over the 1st year & got less & less over those 1st few months. I am now on # 3 & last 2 I took a Tylenol or 2 for day or so after insertion. But can't say I really had much discomfort after a day or so. Hope that helps answer your question.
