I would like to apologise as I have caused offence where I never meant to do so. I understand you are very proud of your club and forum and I think you should be. I will continue to advise my patients to use the resource but I am closing my account.
I am closing my account as of tomorrow to give people time to read my apologies.

Okay, since I have had my pace maker I constantly get zapped when I enter or get out of my car. What's up with that. I sometimes hold the charge to for awhile and zap people.
Is this something I need to be concerned with ????
I had my mechanic install a anti shock bar which hasn't help. Anyone else have this issue?????

Tina's post on mowing. sparked a debate between me and my hubby this morning. I had my procedure done in may.( two procedures, I had lead slip back).
he thinks, I am being a big baby and I should be more active and adventurous. So here is my question..... I would like to know what activities any you were doing after your first procedure? if you would be so kind and share. I am not mowing the yard for him!! Ha!
Thank you, Haley

Four miles into my run I made it almost all the way up a very steep hill. That awkward moment happened when I was bent over trying to catch my breath, a car passed, stopped, reversed and it turned out to be a friend who tried to give me a ride home. Gasping and trying to convince him I was fine, and could continue on, but he didn't seem convinced. Tired, sweaty, hurting, thirsty, and winded, and I wanted nothing more than to get in that car and go home but I didn't and ended up doing a total of...

To Donr in particular, don't remember Cauliflower McPug. Would guess a boxer...maybe Gasoline Alley? To anyone who can advise. I thought I had sent a private message but it was never received so it is floating around somewhere. Could someone please give me instructions on how to do it correctly. Thanks.

I am having an ICD placed on Tues. I'm nervous. How can I expect to feel afterwards? I have Prinzmetal's Angina and have had 4 heart attacks. I'm always tired, sob, and feel some type of chest issue almost everyday. My heart rate is often in the low 40's. thanks.

Hi everyone,
I've been trolling around this board for a bit and decided to join to get some input if possible. A little background: I am 29 years old and was diagnosed with 1st degree AV Block at age 8 and was told I would never need treatment and would live a normal life. I played sports and was very active but always felt off. As I got older I continued to be active but started getting chest pains that would limit my activities. I didn't know anything was wrong until I applied for law enf...

Wow, how fast a year can go by! At one time I was a very busy poster and reader. Then life became very rough for me. :( My Father died of COPD. I was devastated. I'm a Daddy's girl... and I shall remain so even now that my Dad is gone. It has been an awful year. I will spare you details but just let me say this... My marriage also went through some life changing events. We are through counseling now for over 6 months and have been able to overcome some "issues". Then, my Mom decided she was...

Hi,
I started having symptoms in Feb..where my heart rate would go down to 30 and stay for about 24 hours. Then I'm back to normal.
This happens about 2-3 times a month. My doc said that I could qualify for a pm. My question-should I put up with these occasional "bad days" or bite the bullet and get the pm?

Hi
I had a PM fitted this week so have much information , however there is some conflict of opinion with regards to activities.
Can you tell me of snow skiing should be avoided(seriously hope not ) or OK to continue?
I'm a beginner who stays on blue runs and perhaps if pushed short reds. I fall often, these falls are becoming controlled and are no longer "helicopter" crashes. Hope to hear some positive replays. Steve
Thanks for the feedback! Skiing 2014 seems on t...

This is how the pacemaker sees what your heart is doing!
Give it a read and it will hopefully explain a few things that us Technicians talk about...

I started at 46 with first heart attack-triple bypass. In 2001 had another attack and double bypass. In 2009 brought the pacemaker/defib. Just had a stint in Feb this year. Doc said I'm going downhill since Feb so on the 14th of this month getting a new biventricular pacemaker-said I needed the 3rd wire. I've had 5 heart attacks. Last year I went into afib about 8 times, kinda lost track. Had an ablation and that did the trick- no more afib.

Hi all,
I just discovered this group and am really looking forward to reading the posts and getting acquainted. I am going on 63 and have had a PM in since late 2005. I had a terrible time adjusting to it, not so much physically as emotionally, but have, over time, accepted it. It paces my atrium about 20% of the time and ventricles pretty much 100%. I was told last check (in June) that I have anywhere from 1 month to 24 months before battery replacement.... nothing I am looking forward to....

So I have had a mixed reaction to the fact that I am posting links to blog posts that might interest pacemaker patients on this website. I just wanted a quick show of hands if you don't want the posts on here I will take that on board!
