Quick show of hands...

So I have had a mixed reaction to the fact that I am posting links to blog posts that might interest pacemaker patients on this website. I just wanted a quick show of hands if you don't want the posts on here I will take that on board!

Regards

I agree with Moner. To me it seems like you are just using this club to get more visitors on your website. I mean, that's much easier than working on "search engine optimization" etc. I wouldn't mind, if you had posted a link to your site here once, just like others do when an interesting article or study is published somewhere that's of interest for some of us. But you keep posting links to everything that's new on your website, and that makes me think you are using this forum to promote your site. Not saying that you don't mean well or are not helpful; what you explain on your site is surely of interest for many device patients. And I think it's a bit odd that you're not asking for a "show of hands" here. Are we at school, or what?

First you say that you're leaving, then you start posting more regularly than before, but not answering questions here - which is the purpose of this forum -, but only posting links to stuff on your website. We have some professionals like you here, though most of them don't post regularly. But whenever they do post, they answer someone's question. They don't promote their own site or clinic or whatever; they just participate. You don't participate, you only use this forum for the promotion of your site.

I agree with Snitch.

I'm all for capitalism, I live in a capitalist society.

I've also visited other websites that cater to folks with pacemakers and ICDs, I'm grateful to Blake who started this fine website, without all the hoopla.

This website offers genuine advice.

Hi there

by CardiacTechnician - 2013-08-01 06:08:49

Firstly thank you to all those positive comments! I really appreciate them and I am happy you have benefited from my muses.

To Moner and Golden Snitch, I honestly believe I am sharing information which is part of this websites mission statement. At the same time I do of course have an ulterior motive to have people look at my internet site. I put a lot of time into it and would like it to be viewed by as many people as possible. I believe its going to provide a good service. The websites are not mutually exclusive, I write the other website but still log on here every day for a read!

The thing is the intention to succeed by providing a service is what drives a capitalist society. Is not a bad thing!
I can't phrase this as well as Winston Churchill who said

"Some people regard private enterprise as a predatory tiger to be shot. Others look on it as a cow they can milk. Not enough people see it as a healthy horse, pulling a sturdy wagon."

I don't wish to have a dispute with people, I have read your posts and you both write very knowledgeably I was even considering asking Golden Snitch to write a guest blog about life with a pacemaker because I enjoyed your writing style so much.

But any way enough from me,

I will continue to post my links here and if you don't wish to read them then I totally respect that,

Have a great day every one

P.S. I am working on search engine optimisation as well.

I'm sure you mean well, but your recent post yesterday sounding somewhat self-serving.

I've only been recently on board here, and have received a wealth on information (i.e Electric Frank (RIP), Snitch, DonR, TraceyE) who don't seem to have a hidden agenda.

Just my opinion.

Carry on.

Technical

I have been reading some of your replies and have saved your blog to favorites.
It is great to have someone here who is speaking with knowledge on the subject. But, and i'm sorry there is a but. I find many of your answers are too technical for a mere mortal like myself. I struggle with it, but I am aware you have the technical background and therefore do know what you are writing about. Maybe it is just me. I am trying to learn about this machine inside me and I will continue to follow your blog. could it be a little less technical, please.
From an appreciative reader. Brend

I think your posts are fine. You let people know what is available on your blog and offer the option of following them up if they choose. And they are well written and for me at least quite understandable. I'm not sure what hidden agenda you could have and why it should matter if you are getting more views on your blog. It's not as if your being paid for it? There are some people on this site with great technical knowledge, you are just another with a slightly different perspective. It' good to get both sides of the picture.
