my husband purchased a digital recording of oxygen level and pulse for himself. i thought tonight i would check my pulse.first it was 44 then 46. i have had my medtronic p.m. since 2006. this past summer they said i may only have a year left before replacement. is this what happens as i thought my pulse rate would not go below 60. i am sure this is what they told me seven years ago jessie

I am a long time member. I have had my Medtronic pacer since 2005. I found this site soon after implant. I have not been on in awhile. I am posting because my wife and i are going on a trip. I know in the past there have been members on here that are from New Zealand and Australia. I have conversed with a few in the past. We are cruising there and have several 1 day stops in New Zealand and 3 days in Sydney. Just wondering if any club members are still here and if so, would you be interested in...

Good morning all. Been some time from my last post and I'm just checking in to let everyone know I'm still kicking. Been having a few set backs, but my doctors are working me thru them.
They did pull the tubes from me due to another infection. As to why I keep getting these infections, I don't know. I have a nurse come in to clean and changed the dressings. So now, I have to go to the local hospital once a week for a Dobutamine infusion that takes 8-9 hours. I was down in New Orleans...

Hi All,
Don't know if you have seen this...
The AAA pacemaker: It's the size of a small battery and takes just seven minutes to fit... so could this revolutionary device give new heart to millions?
The first six Britons have been fit with no leads pacemaker Nanostim
The new pacemaker is the tenth of the size of a traditional pacemaker
It takes under ten minutes to fit, compared to the current 45 minutes

I guess I'm just venting so pardon me but the other day at work I really had a scare. I was sitting at my desk (in fact earlier even kinda bragging cause I'd had a really bad cold and sinus infection for the last several weeks that i'd been fighting and was finally feeling so good really great that morning) around 3 or so I was beginning to feel a little lethargic which sometimes I do cause I just sit and make phone calls.so I got up and moved around some. then sat back down--later --I thought I...

Feeling really bad for days now. All the usual symptoms, fever, chills, headache, congestion. I don't know what I can or can't take so I'm only taking NyQuil at night...gotta try to sleep and breathe. I don't think I am supposed to take nsaids except for the daily aspirin.
Any suggestions for the flu. I was trying to stay hydrated with chicken soup. Waayy too much sodium for me....makes me feel worse.

Having a hard time coping with the fact that he just got all this done to save his life and he's still treating everyone like his life is crap and still walks around angry and pissed off at everything. Yet the night he got the surgery done he said he wanted everything to be different now and he's sorry for being a burden and all this other heart felt bs. Im not grasping how someone can get life saving surgery and still be so frigid!

I keep telling people that their PM/ICD has the same technology in it that the Mars Rover sent there a yr or so ago.
I stumbled across this link this AM, courtesy of a friend who has nothing better to do then sit at his computer all day, following a stroke several yrs ago that left him w/o use of his right arm or hand & he was a lousy 4 - fingered typist at best & is now reduced to use of two fingers on his left hand. (Think WE have problems?)

ANY ONE who rec'd a Pvt Msg from a woman named Crystal asking for contact to help her write a web article on a heart study.
I have made contract w/ the study folks at Univ Calif, San Francicso to find out if this is real or a scam.
I just now (8:42 PM EDT) rec'd a msg from them asking that we not respond at this time. They will send me details when they find out what is going on.
Apparently they met the woman at a conference recently.

Cardiologist told me today I need to have cardiac cath done Tuesday. Wants it to be via the wrist rather than groin like I had previously. Need to evaluate blockage and need for stent as well as aortic valve leakage. Anyone have this method and, if so, what was it like during the procedure and after. As always, thanks for your feedback.
