Cardiologist told me today I need to have cardiac cath done Tuesday. Wants it to be via the wrist rather than groin like I had previously. Need to evaluate blockage and need for stent as well as aortic valve leakage. Anyone have this method and, if so, what was it like during the procedure and after. As always, thanks for your feedback.

Hi, I had my stent down via the wrist , no pain , no problems, as a matter of fact I watched the whole procedure on the large screen monitor that the doctor was using, just had to wear a special pressure wrist band for a few hours after it was done. All good. They say there are less complication doing it through the wrist. Rick

I've had many heart caths. I always had the groin until the With the groin I had to lay perfectly flat with pressure on the site for at least two hours and the site stayed sore for weeks after the procedure plus I had two weeks restriction and a bruise that I thought would never go away!
With the wrist area there was no laying flat at all and as for me there was no soreness at all, no bruising and a place hardly noticeable at all. A pressure wrap was used with a clear window type view area to note any bleeding. Like I stated before it will be the wrist from now on.
I had two stents placed via groin and two via wrist. I have a heart cath every year because of conditions and have had four that there were no stents placed.
