Had a Scare

I guess I'm just venting so pardon me but the other day at work I really had a scare. I was sitting at my desk (in fact earlier even kinda bragging cause I'd had a really bad cold and sinus infection for the last several weeks that i'd been fighting and was finally feeling so good really great that morning) around 3 or so I was beginning to feel a little lethargic which sometimes I do cause I just sit and make phone calls.so I got up and moved around some. then sat back down--later --I thought I was going to pass out on a call just kinda woozy I guess. then all of a sudden my face, hands head and chest all started tingling. I thought I was maybe just sitting weird or something but when I tried to get up got really dizzy and spacy. somebody from the call center was going to take me up to the ER just up the street but were quickly over ruled by the floor supervisor and ended up calling 911 hence I got my first ambulance ride to the hospital. all tests came back normal including a head ct and the only thing they could come up with was maybe vertigo. seems when the medics took my BP while I was still at work it was kinda high for me but it bottomed out at the hospital. I'm ok now still kind of dizzy sometimes but can walk a whole lot better than I could Friday night. wondering if it could be a TIA although everything came back normal?? have drs apt tomorrow for follow up.

saw my primary dr. today I don't really think he knows exactly either per say--he did say however that it was NOT vertigo which I didn't think it was either. has me set up to see my cardiologist on Friday and he wants to do a 3 day holter which i'm waiting for arrangements for that. when he listened to my heart he said it was really slow but by the time I undressed for an EKG it was back up to the 60's so he's thinking maybe it got to slow or something and that's what caused this--I guess I'll wait to see what the cardiologist says about all this. he didn't seem to think TIA so that's good. (as a refresher I don't have a PM at this time). Am feeling a lot better and able to basically do just about anything. every once in a while my right side of face will feel a little tingly but its more like a "fly" or something--not really bothering me just sometimes bugs me. the weird thing is how suddenly this came on and most of the effects disappeared within about 1/2 hr or so. still had some dizziness and/or balance issues for a day or so but then it's totally gone.

I think we're gonna have to let the doctor have the first say on this. I know from painful experience that heart problems, meds, messed up electrolytes, and infections can really mess you up and cause weird symptoms.

So all I'm gonna say is: I hope you start feeling better. Hope they can find out what happened. Sorry you had to go through it.

My cardio really didn't say much as to what it was other than we've got to catch the event in the act. Hopefully it will never occur again but then again who knows. They are ordering me a 3 week holter to wear that they said will probably be fed exed to me not sure what to expect on that one but he wants me to wear it all the time except for showers. Hopefully they'll find out something before this happens again although even if it does I know what it's NOT so i'm not going to get all "excited" about it. If I have my holter by then i'll just press the button, relax and carry on.
