As Ian says, notify the DVLA via their website or telephone. When I advised DVLA via phone, they wanted to know it was:
- at least 1 week post op
- Cardio /Tech had cleared me to drive.

and the lovely guy said, you are safer now driving than lots of people.

Interestingly, it has had no impact on my insurance.

best of luck

I hope you are getting better by the day !

You can legally drive in the UK as from Thursday of this week providing you are having no more pauses but , as you said, you have to notify the DVLA. Do it NOW via their website.

I'm sure that your PM will be doing what it is designed to do and your cardiac pauses will be a thing of the past . You will re-gain your independence, rather than losing it !

Best of luck

Ian

Bit more than that I think

I think the official line from DVLA is as Ian says that it is a week after implant and no further pauses BUT also that you have had a satisfactory first PM check with the technicians, which is normally at the end of the first week if you drive. Apparently, according to the technicians at my cardiac unit, there are a very few hospitals where they will only do the first check after a month and the drivers have to wait until then to legally drive.Best of luck. John

I had a pacemaker check at the hosp before I left? Now haven't got one for 6 weeks? Xx

You know you're wired when...

You have rhythm.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
