I'm a bit curious about "Body Image" and Age

Hello ladies and Gents. I have been thinking about this for awhile .... "A sense of body image is stronger in the under 21 age group".

I am very curious about how many of us believe that? I am 59 now and I had to stop and think, is my body image as important to me now as when I was under 21? I may be amongst a small percentage of women, but my body image is very, very important to me. So, the answer is definitely Yes! In fact, in some ways more so. Yes, I have scars from the...

Pleurisy and Pacemaker

Hello Everyone ! I have a cough for about 1 month 2 weeks. After a few weeks went to internist doc for cough, he gave me a shot and antibolics. Then after a month, went back to doc to check my cough again, (still coughing). He said the cough was lingering, and gave me no drugs. Currently having pain under breast and ribs, while coughing, laughing, sitting up. My breathing is more pronounced (taking more deep). I was wondering if anyone has had pleurisy ? Doc never did x-ray either, I went 2...

wait or go ahead with PM?

Hey, I'm new here. Good to "meet" all of you.

I'm in a situation where my cardiologist has said he's pretty sure I'll need a pacemaker eventually, but has left it up to me whether to do it now or wait. I have frequent but intermittent episodes of 2nd degree type 2 AV heart block (Mobitz). In the past I had 2nd degree type 1 (Wenckebach), so it's getting worse. Cause unknown. No other heart issues have been diagnosed. He assumes I'll eventually inch toward complete block. Symp...

Travel insurance

Hi Folks
I am trying to get some sensible travel insurance for a 90 day trip to Spain and had quotes varying between £423 and £763, seems a lot to me but what should I expect to pay?
I also take Simvastatin and two blood pressure tablets daily and been constant for 12 years.
My Pacemaker was fitted because I have an occasional slowing of my heartbeat.
Advice and recommendations please.

Appreciation

Thanks to all who expressed concern for us due to our un-named storm. (i'm sure some have given it names it but I won't repeat them".).I'm here in north central Long Island, NY wondering when the plows will do my street. My town averages about 25 " of snow, if leveled, but the winds made drifts much higher.
Fortunately there have been few power outages due to trees falling on wires. For this we can thank hurricane Sandy which harvested thousands of trees.
My wife is thankful that she'l...

Hi Electric Frank

We have chatted before and you have been helpful. Typed in vertigo in the search button and saw a reply you had to someone last year. I just had an attack and it is scary. Glad there was a wall to hang onto. And didn't miss it! Certainly a different feeling than lightheaded or dizzy. It really is like getting off a merry go round amusement ride. Just wondered if you have them often? Since this is my first, is it likely it will be a recurring thing. My HR was fine, my blood pressure after sitting...

get together

As Tacey E says Tampa was a great success. How about running a proposed meeting past us all again and see what interest there is as my previous post elicited at least four interested persons? For those who want to come from afar it takes a lot of planning regarding travel and domestic arrangements. Just a thought as we seem to have so many new members on the site now. Sincerely Billie

We are no strangers here in the UK to tough weather, but there is no doubt that what you are getting really is pretty extreme.

Motorcycle?

Hi, starting to think, (implant Jan 10th) about getting back onto my motorcycle.Being a 'boxer' engine there is always some vibration present. Does anyone have experience of how long after the op its safe to get aboard again, and also does the vibration, not a shaking, affect anything. Thanks. Brian

affected by workplace

Hi, this is probably a really daft question but its something that affected me today.

Iv had my pm 2 weeks now, and had to go into work today for an attendance meeting. As soon as i sat in the office with my manager i started to get a fuzzy head, and a weird spaced out feeling while talking to her, i then went to talk to some friends and i felt really spaced out, like i was drunk and dizzy, told them i had to get outside as felt strange, so i went home. Tingling again

I'm wondering if my tingling on my left side has anything to do with my battery being low. I had a lot of tingling all over my body when I first had my ICD put in (2005) (2008) but has calm down alot in the last few years. As of a few days ago, my battery alarm has gone off, and the tingling has started again. I have spoken to the doctor, have an app't Monday. Other than the tingling, feel good, and have none of the problems I had before inplant. Any ideas? We are expecting a big snow stor...
