Hi All,
I read this article and thought some would find it interesting:
New Device Could Allow Your Heartbeat to Power Pacemaker
ScienceDaily (Nov. 4, 2012) An experimental device converted energy from a beating heart to provide enough electricity to power a pacemaker, in a study presented at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions 2012.
The findings suggest that patients could power their pacemakers -- eliminating the need for replaceme...

Hello all,
This is my first posting. I'm 33 years old, 10 days out from my first pacemaker (Nov 16th), and have never been more scared of anything in my life! I have 2nd degree heartblock and have lightheadedness, and fatigue pretty much all the time. It's all I can think about! Sometimes the palpitations make me want to scream!
I have always had anxiety, and thats what doctors kept telling me this was and it wasn't until I went to a walkin clinic a few months ago for...

Hi all. I'm just wandering if anyone knows where actress Julie Bowen has her pacemaker. Its not visible when she wears strapless dresses? Very curious. Be lovely if they weren't so visible, especially in summer.

I'm 26 years old, and in the past year I've had two cardiac caths and ablations. One was for SVT and the other was a sinus node ablation that was to result in a pacemaker. The first ablation resulted in a massive clot that enveloped my entire thigh and unfortunately, the SA ablation went wrong also, and they ended up puncturing my heart, which led to pericarditus (blood around the heart). Due to this, the pacemaker was not implanted and I've been suffering ever since with irractic beats, fast he...

Question, was filling a little tired after a long day of doing alot of little things. Had my pacemaker bu in about ten weeks ago and have had not one problem. but I checked my B/P and pulse and it came out fine except the pulse read 51 and with the pacemaker in it's not suppose to go below 60. So I got my wifes monitor and checked and my pulse was 66 and checked about two hours later and it was 61. Have any of you had your pulse go below what your pacemaker is set for?? Thanks for any help AL

Hello everyone in the PM world. I have had my PM in since August 2012. It's a St. Jude Device, I have a Merlin at home. I also had quintuple bypass in July 2009. I just wanted to share some thoughts with everyone.
I have been "jogging" more or less over the last two years to keep my BP down and to lose weight. Have had no problems when jogging. I work a desk during the day (govt. worker). I jog about 10-15 miles a week along with cross training on my off days. I have been to my...

My Wife has had a pacer/defib installed in 06. She has long Cardio history, 7 stints, double and triple by passes, 2 heart attacks, 1 small stroke. Doctors said She would be gone 2 years ago, so just shows how well They predicted.
Things got to be pretty normal, other than a slow weakening. April 24th She called Me into room and said something didn't feel right. I asked Her if She wanted to go to ER and said no let's wait a bit. Not 30 seconds went by and She let out the worst blood chilli...

Hi everyone,
I have not been "on" for quite a while and lots of things happend. I feel like a guinea pig because of "trying out" re-adjusting my pacemaker. I seem to be wired differently (literally) because the doc could not find the venes where they were supposed to be. took over 3 hours to put the "generator" in. Anyway, does anyone know how I can find out how my own little heart is doing? Had an ablation, so 3rd heart block, 100% paced in my ventricle, 91% in the atrium. so my heart is...

for the feedback. I know I have read about statins depleting CoQ10 on more than 1 website, but I will not challenge your knowledge given your background...although I do love a good challenge...LOL.
Having said that, could this be similar to: coffee is not good for you, no wait...coffee is good for you now...no, coffee is not good for you...ok, right now, coffee is good for you again?
As far as CoQ10, I feel better taking it and I do notice a difference if I run out, but d...

Hi all,
Just over a week or 2 ago I had the flu jab, and like last year and the year before, I got a stinking cold and now a chesty cough. The cough that I had before the PM implant I had for about four months, and it went soon as I had the PM.
I read on here somewhere that we should not take any cough syrups/mixtures, with most conditions such as complete heart block which is what I have, is this true? Are there any mixtures we can take??
I hope you are all enjoying the wee...
You know you're wired when...
You prefer rechargeable batteries.
