Take a look at the photo of me in charge of all that I own while camping in the desert last week.
Beautiful country.

My scope is a Tek 2215. It's a 2 channel analog with expanded time base. I can't remember if it is a 60Mhz or 100 Mhz. I bought it back in the 1980's when I was teaching at Pima College in Tucson. Tek gave the faculty an excellent price on them.
The Rattler was protecting me against the other varmints in the area. Funny, after all the years in the desert and mountains I've never come close to being bit by a rattler. We have the sidewinder variety as well as several of the others.
Besides that the rattlers respect us old hippies.

Sun screen? What's that? I've been living in the sun most my life, some of it not as well dressed as the in the photo, and only wore some SPF 6 stuff when I did a lot of boating on the desert lakes. If we were on the water most of the day I would use so of the low stuff if I started feeling the sun.
My poor doc has searched my body for the skin cancer that I must have and found nothing. It must be genetic.

I love it out there

I'll take it instead of an ICD any day. If my thumper decides to quit there couldn't be a better place for it to happen. Even the buzzards and coyotes would be happy.
I wish I could get a photo of the sky at night.

Bet you didn't...

...notice that little rattler hiding under the edge of the rock you were sitting on!
You'd fit right in w/ our three Shih Tzus - kinda furry & like to get on top of things to survey their domain!
HA! Made you look!
Frank, what is the vintage of your Tektronix?
Don
Nope

The photo was taken by a Raven that hangs around camp. I propped the camera on a rock, and put a nut on the shutter button. When I was in position sitting on my rock I whistled and the Raven flew down to peck the nut, which fired the shutter.
I'd never lie to you folks would I? LOL
Actually, the camera was propped on a rock about 6" off the ground. I used the timer on the camera to let me run for it to get into position. The rock was very rough and it was interesting getting seated rapidly without removing some hide off my bare skin. I shot about 8 photos to get what I wanted. I have a wireless shutter release, but it was back in the trailer.
For you photo buffs I was using a 10mm wide angle lens to get the perspective with me large in the foreground, while showing as much of the background as I could. I used Photoshop Lightroom to crop and level the scene. (the rock holding the camera was uncooperative about staying flat). I also corrected some of the lens distortion.

Great Picture

That's a great picture, you looked so relaxed.
I was thinking the same thing as Grateful Heart.
You should have kept your crown on for the picture.

Crown
by ElectricFrank - 2012-11-06 03:11:58
Them crowns get hot in the desert sun! Besides that I need the cap to protect my Chrome Dome. That's the only part of me that otherwise would need sun screen. During all my younger years when I was developing my skin to handle the sun my head was protected by that strange stuff called hair.

you are a pretty good example of living your life as you wish to. haha about your hair. i am blessed and still have thick rich hair even tho the colour is from a bottle.glad you enjoyed your trip. snow is coming here soon altho we are the least likely living in the most s.w. area of ontario canada. we can almost watch them build the new bridge. jessie
You have it right

My dad used to say that eating right, exercising, and otherwise good clean living didn't make us live longer, it just seems longer.
My brother is a lot more concerned about his looks so he has a hair piece.
Every few years we get a dusting of snow here. Just enough to decorate the sage brush. I lived in Idaho for 5 years where we had plenty of snow.
If I can ever make time I'm planning on adding a photo gallery to my web site so I can post larger and more of my doings.
