Hi
I am a 52 year old male. No previous heart issues but last year needed a pacemaker due to 3rd degree block. No problems at all since, very active and no symptoms.
My electronic monitor reported that I had an arythemia and the tech called and asked that I come in to see the doctor. I am going next week, but am a little concerned. Anyone else have this happen to them and what was the outcome?
Thanks!
Just curious.

I had my pacemaker put in like 6 months ago and today I have been a lot of pain and tightness in the area. Does this mean there is something wrong or is it normal to have pain for this long? I just am curious to know what I should expect.

My father received the device that is MRI compatible. His procedure was done about 1 week and a half ago. His complications were shortness of breath, chest pains and lots of swelling. They put him on lasix and remedied the swelling. Since shedding the fluid he the breathing issues have ceased. He and the rest of us have noticed some memory issues. Is this temporary?

Today I was doing some house work. I was going up and down the stairs and felt weak.(haven't felt that since before my pacemaker was put in). My pulse usual runs 60. Today it was 120
131/79 which is good but concerned about the pulse.
Any information would be helpful thanks

During surgery to install my 3 lead biventricular pacemaker, the doctor learned that I had persistent left superiors vena cava. There were a few complications and now, after just 3 weeks, we've learned that a lead has become displaced. The EP says he will likely have to go in and redo that lead but because of the left superior vena cava, he may have to do it in a different and more invasive manner. I was shocked and didn't ask many questions yet, as I just found out. Has anyone with this conditi...

I'm 37 and I've only had my biventricular pacemaker for about 3 weeks. During surgery, the doctor discovered I had left superior vena cava, although he continued with the surgery taking about 4 hours. Unfortunately, the doctor punctured my lung causing a partial lung collapse and an additional 5 days in the hospital to recover. At my first doctor visit 2 days ago, it was discovered the one of the three leads and become seriously displaced and is not only using 5 times the voltage as when initial...

This is my first post. On 2/20/13, I had a Boston Scientific bi-ventricular PM placed for HF and left bundle block.
There were problems within a day of placement. I had symptoms of shortness of breath with chest pain after walking 1/2 block. These symptoms were worse than before the placement.
The PM was adjusted a few days later and my symptoms improved immediately.
I have been walking 30 mins as instructed but my legs hurt terribly like I am exercising too vig...

Thanks for getting back Tammy; I searched as you advised and have found a few comments from some others regarding the persistent cough.
Some say their Dr or Cardiol told them its not related to PM, others say they had been told it was only a virus or allergic reaction to meds maybe although most are not convinced reading between the lines, one guy says he had this problem and it was confirmed to be an AV block which he was treated for but even after that the cough returned so who knows!

I had my first pacemaker implanted in 1998 to eliminate chronic atrial fibrillation. From that time my life was transformed, and I have had no problems at all during the past 13 years. My first box change was in 2005, and I had my second in December 2012.
However, recently I have occasionally experienced irregular pacing after eating, which is uncomfortable but usually lasts for a fairly short time (between 5 and 20 minutes) before regular pacing is restored.
Has anyone else experien...

Thank you Robert, Tammy and all;
I am feeling a bit better day by day thanks to all your support and information, still feel like a bit of a way to go as Wednesday was only my 4th week.
Have been doing a little bit of walking and even went to the local pool yesterday, not to swim of course but did some light walking up and down in waist depth, dont want to do or go to overboard and get to ahead of myself as must admit when I got home I was a bit tired and sweaty a bit.
Still...

Re the Yay;
Thanks for getting back Tammy and yes will jot down things as they happen so as for better recall when talking with Dr`s etc.
As to your Question about the cough, no one has been able to answer effectively the reason/s the tech doesn`t think its related to the PM but I`m not convinced and at first my GP and cardioligist just thought it might be just a viral thing but its been ever since the PM was put in virtually and as said earlier it only bugs me when excerti...

I had a dual lead pacer inserted for sinus node dysfunction seven months ago and am now experiencing occasional syncope and a lot of presyncope, chest and abdomen pain, and I have suddenly got borderline pulmonary hypertension and atrial dilation. Anyone know if this is likely pacemaker syndrome as my doctor doesn't seem to know and no-one seems to care, except me!

Hi,
I just had my first pacemaker implanted this week. Still having flashbacks about that particular experience..
Apart from the obvious pain at the surgical wound there didn't seem to be anything else wrong at first. I was able to walk 6 miles the day after surgery and then 9 miles on each of the next two days without any issues. However, I have noticed that when I sit or lie in certain positions I am getting some slight pain or pulling sensations in my chest and throat. I...

I had a pacemaker installed in Sept of 2012. I have no complaints about the pacemaker itself, but have experienced left arm pain (sometimes severe) ever since the surgery. I thought perhaps having the arm "immobilized" for almost 6 weeks after implantation caused the problem. Now, I don't think so. Can't really sleep on my left side because of the aching pain. I feel that something is definitely wrong with the arm. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi,
I'm posting for my father, he is 64 years old and had a pacemaker put in after they put in a stint. His bpm dropped to the twenties after so they put it in. He has since felt like he is foggy or fuzzy with his memory and has days that he feels like he is touching a electric fence. He went in to have it checked and somehow wound up resetting the pacemaker they had to have a tech come from across town to reset it. He has been told that it is working fine but I don't understand t...

I have had my pacemaker 2 months 1 week, when I sleep on my right side the pacemaker shifts and seems as if it flips side ways. is this common? Also at times there is a stinging pain on the left side of pacemaker, it just seems like it pulls a little, dose anyone also have this happen?

Does anyone else notice more chest pain or irregular heartbeats when you are overly tired? I recently started overnight shifts and have been having a lot of chest pain. I am very tired and know how lack of sleep can affect the body but I was having problems before the shift change too, not as significant tho. Now I get the pain, dizziness, nausea, and confusion almost nightly. It's out of hand.

Hi, Two years ago I had a complete 3 degree block and received a Sensia DR pacemaker and was told since I didn't have any heart disease this would fix me up. After about 1 and a half years my symptoms returned, exertional chest discomfort, dyspnea, fatigue, palpitations. Of course they said my pacemaker was fine. Had a Stress echo, before I even started the tech. called the Doctor to look at my echo and he said my left side wasn't working and I needed to upgrade to a biventricular and I sta...
