Hi,
I just had my first pacemaker implanted this week. Still having flashbacks about that particular experience..
Apart from the obvious pain at the surgical wound there didn't seem to be anything else wrong at first. I was able to walk 6 miles the day after surgery and then 9 miles on each of the next two days without any issues. However, I have noticed that when I sit or lie in certain positions I am getting some slight pain or pulling sensations in my chest and throat. It's hard to describe. When this happens it's a bit uncomfortable to breath deeply. However, if I walk about a bit it seems to recede. Has anyone else experienced this? I am not sure if I should contact the hospital as I don't really suffer from shortness of breath, elevated heart rate or blood pressure when this happens. It can be quite uncomfortable at times though.
I am glad that I can walk at least. I am a keen runner and not being able to run for the next couple of weeks is extremely frustrating.

I experienced the same sensation and attributed to the healing process. As I understand my collarbone was involved someway with the way they connected leads.

Thanks for your replies. I called the hospital this morning to explain my symptoms and they asked me to come in. They did an X-ray, ECG and blood tests. All seems to be well and I was told that it just pain from the recovery process. Relived if feeling somewhat foolish.
Thanks again
