So the last two days I have been getting blurry vison only in my left eye and my left hang goes extremely numb. I have had my pm now since 7-30-13 and I haven't really changed much of what I do. It isn't specific times when it goes blurry and numb. Does this have to do with the PM??

Hi All,
In July of 2012 I went to the hospital due to severe syncope, I was admitted due to high blood pressure and low heart rate. The doctors immediately stopped all of my medications for what ever reason. Two days later I had a stroke while in the hospital. During my first few nights my heart kept dropping down to 30 ppm due to bradycardia.
The stroke was contained to rapid response team. The next day they implanted a duel chamber pacemaker. During the past year I had a terrib...

Im 42 had a biventricular pacemaker implanted 13 years ago for congestive heart failure. Went in this week for a 2 year echo and got a call yesterday that my ef went from 40% to 30%. They would now like to do an optimized echo. I feel great, no symptoms, workout 2.5 hours 5 days a week? Should I be worried, could the echo be wrong???? Anyone else gone through something like this???? Needless to say was not expecting those results and Im kind of freaking out!!!!!!

Hello everybody, here is an update on what is going on. I went to my family doctor and got a prescription for an antibiotic for 10 days. The drainage has slowed down yet my cardiologist is STILL acting like its no big deal. I am seeing my family doctor again on Monday, 09/09 and the cardiologist on Thursday the 12th when he plans to just look at the incision. They wanted to send me to an infectious disease specialist but again the lack of insurance made them change their mind unless I could c...

Hi fellow pacemakers. 6 months over insertion. A duel lead job. Was admitted to hospital, with almost identical symptoms that lead to me needing PM. This time round I had no blackout, thank God. Doc's say to keep hydrated, and it is not the pacemaker.
I hope so. I have a lot of livin' to do,especially for my little darling daughter. I am not taking any medication. So what's the story.? Any ideas guys and gals? I would greatly appreciate any input. Yours. Bre...

Does anyone or has anyone ever had issues with lead placement? I can feel a rhythmic pulsation when I place my hand under my left breast. It gets more intense at times. Is now a constant feeling.

Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I last posted and your comments have been very helpful. I am coping relatively well with my PM however I continue to experience problems after I have my PM check ups (every 6 months). During the check up the tech revs up my heart to about 120 BPM and then drops it back to the 60 BPM setting. I always feel dizzy and a bit sick when they do that and for a period of several weeks afterwards I have shortness of breath, fatigue and short spells of...

Got my third pacemaker in April. Had problems with it hurting and feeling sore from day 1. Never had issues with the other two. My leads are over 12 years old and were not replaced with the new pacemaker. In July started having drainage. Was given oral antibiotics for two weeks and other than that was told to put alcohol on wound and keep covered. Im allergic to iodine so cant use that. Three days ago the wound was gushing out blood and yellow puss. I have been to the doctor 14 times for this...

Two years ago my atrial lead was turned off because of static and misfiring problems. I currently only need to use my ventricle lead (bradycardia). At my annual interrogation, I was told that I am getting static in my ventricle lead now, causing no response to my pacemaker, so the Rate Response Sensor was turned off. I am now pacing at 100%. Since the adjustment I find I am getting alot of PVCs.
I was given a 21 day event monitor. I When I bend over to pick something up, I not...

Sitting here on a holiday weekend wondering why it seems nothing can ever happen easily for me. It's irritating.
Drove for a pacer check last Monday only to get in there to realize that the tech doesn't know me from Adam, so for me to answer his "what is going on" question with my answer, "The same thing that's been happening since the last time I was here" wouldn't really apply to him since HE WASN'T THERE. I know it's not his fault and told him such but the continuity just wasn't there a...

I have a gastric pacemaker. I had it put in April 2013. Since then I have had horrible pain just above the device. The drop to your knees type pain. For months they could not figure out the problem. Finally, I took it upon myself to try to figure it out. Seems to be the muscle it sits on. The muscle has spasms causing severe pain. Also, since the day I went home the incisions from the leads have been swollen, red, painful and itchy and they still don't know why that is. it has been almost 5 mont...

I'e had a Boston Scientific pacemaker for 4 1/2 years with no negative effects. In fact I've felt completely normal I'm 69 and recently have begun having random chest pain (feels like heart pain to me) which has been occuring more and more frequently. In the last year my heart has increased it's reliance on the pacemaker from 30% to 100%. I had a completely normal echocardiogram just a few weeks ago. My cardiologist doesn't seem to be too worried about this "atypical" pain, but it's a littl...

I'm at a loss... Dad just out of OR to repair displaced atrial lead (pm implanted 2 weeks ago), and technician says atrial not working right and seems to be dislodging again and that he's only ever seen this once before. He's with a top notch doc in NYC...has anyone ever heard of such a thing?

Hi all, just wanted to catch ya up. I went to my doctords office today to get the event monitor. I didn't get to see the doctor of course but I did talk to his nurse a lot. The nurse stated that the doctor is looking for irregular heart beats and Vtach. I am scared that, that is what he is looking for but I want to know if I have it. I have to wear the monitor for two weeks or until they gather enough information to know what he wants to do. I am also having atrial tach in the av node. I had a a...

hi all - i'm hoping you can shed some light on what my dad's been going thru... he had a PM implanted 2 weeks ago, after episodic tachycardia. a few days ago the atrial lead dislodged and he was set up to have another procedure to fix it next week. today he collapsed/fainted while to dinner. he woke up a few minutes later then ended up in the local ER. now he's gone by ambulance to the hospital where his docs are. i'm freaked out. anyone with similar experiences? are fainting spells AFTER...

Good Morning,
I had a dual lead pacemaker implanted 3 years ago. I have had no problems until recently. For the past month I have had a deep pain in my arm pit. At first it would come and go and felt like a sore lymph node. Now it is aching more frequently and since last night it is non stop. My left arm is starting to ache now. Also when I raise my arm, my pm is SO SORE. I have not lifted anything heavy lately and I have not changed my routine. It's almost as sore as it was when it was fir...

Hello again everyone. Hope all is well. I need to vent. I have been having these things I can only think of the word surges during the night, so today I called the doctor. I have a biotronik which downloads every night so if it wasn't picking it up, I wasn't that concerned.
The nurse spoke with me and then spoke with the doctor who wants me to come on Thursday and have a 2 week event monitor put on. I do not understand this. I asked them why when I have the machine downloading every n...

I had a pacemaker when I was 11. I never once thought I wasn't a 'normal kid' nor was I ever treated differently because of it. I could do everything all my friends were doing; I just happened to have a battery attached to my heart to help it work.
