pain in arm pit

Good Morning,
I had a dual lead pacemaker implanted 3 years ago. I have had no problems until recently. For the past month I have had a deep pain in my arm pit. At first it would come and go and felt like a sore lymph node. Now it is aching more frequently and since last night it is non stop. My left arm is starting to ache now. Also when I raise my arm, my pm is SO SORE. I have not lifted anything heavy lately and I have not changed my routine. It's almost as sore as it was when it was first implanted. It is really affecting my sleep and day to day routine. Kinda scary and I'm worried. Has anyone else experienced anything like this????

I hope by now that you have called your cardiologist. They should be able to work you into the schedule. This definitely sounds like something that needs to be addressed ASAP. Good luck.

get it checked

Definitely get it looked at. It's rare but not unheard of to become infected this long after implant. Hopefully that's not what it is, but if it is it's important to start treating aggressively asap.

Hi Beksmom,
It is possible you have an infection around your pacer. Get to a doctor and have it checked right away!

Armpit

A week after my CRT-D I had a wound check and they asked if anything else was happening. I said my armpit and a little down my arm. They said we need a vein scan ASAP cause there might be a clot in the vein. Couldn't find a clot but thought may it was near a nerve ending. All is well now.

Pain in arm pit

I just got out of the hospital yesterday I have had a defibulator since 1996, this past weekend my left arm pit became very sore and by left arm almost doubled in size, I had a blood clot which formed around the lead wires everything is good now, but I would get to a doctor and have it checked out, I wouldn't do any home remedies a hot pad could loosen a clot if that is what it is

You know you're wired when...

Your pacemaker receives radio frequencies.
