pain/allergic reaction

I have a gastric pacemaker. I had it put in April 2013. Since then I have had horrible pain just above the device. The drop to your knees type pain. For months they could not figure out the problem. Finally, I took it upon myself to try to figure it out. Seems to be the muscle it sits on. The muscle has spasms causing severe pain. Also, since the day I went home the incisions from the leads have been swollen, red, painful and itchy and they still don't know why that is. it has been almost 5 months since the surgery. Any suggestions to the allergic reaction I seem to be having?

Hi, I just WONDER if a blood culture would reveal anything...or, has this already been done? Sure hope they find and fix your problem. Best of luck, and keep us posted....Bev

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
