Hello again everyone. Hope all is well. I need to vent. I have been having these things I can only think of the word surges during the night, so today I called the doctor. I have a biotronik which downloads every night so if it wasn't picking it up, I wasn't that concerned.
The nurse spoke with me and then spoke with the doctor who wants me to come on Thursday and have a 2 week event monitor put on. I do not understand this. I asked them why when I have the machine downloading every night but she only said to me, he is looking for something else.
I do not understand any of this. I should be so much better by now, but I'm not. I have been reading a lot of post on here, and I am like one of the other women. I feel like instead of this pacemaker increasing the quality of my life it has decreased the quality.
Any feedback would be helpful and thank you for listening and reading in advance.
Tina

look up heart rate, blood pressure and pacemaker, they all have to be in sync. Ask a lot of questions, right them down BEFORE going to the doctor. I had to have an Ablation procedure done, where they go through the groin and bring the heart rate down, it would not decrease after pacemaker was put in, my heart rate was 170....your heart will burn out at this rate if left. ASK Questions, and search the web......you need to be your own advocate! Keep in touch let us know after Dr. appt.

Tina....Vent away but don't panic. Take it a step at a time.
It sounds like your Doc is listening to you and working with you. That in itself is a big plus.
Good luck tomorrow,
Grateful Heart

I realize you are so worried and fearful. and anxiety is making these feelings so much worse for you!
I also have anxiety. came right along with the heart problems.
Sparrow, gave you some very sound advice. write down your questions. I carry a little fat notebook that fits in my purse. if you are tech savvy person that feature is on the iphone/ ipad. and you can do it that way. I just like my notebook. the cleaning is my favorite piece of advice she gave you. nothing better than that to get your mind free.
so put on favorite songs and find something to scrub. I have no trouble with that in my house with two big dogs that shed. it is never ending! Remember to breath and relax. Please check in and let us know how everything went with your Doctor's appointment.
Take Care, Coppertop

Ditto Grateful Heart's advice, vent all you want but don't panic. The pm doesn't record everything, just pacing, so the event monitor will give the dr more information to work with. The important thing is to figure out what's going on so they can fix it. Good luck! Let us know how you are doing.
You know you're wired when...
Youre officially battery-operated.

I just want to share about the quality of life after my pacemaker, and hopefully increase awareness that lifestyles do not have to be drastically modified just because we are pacemaker recipients.
I would hope that....

....when you go in for the monitor that they would explain what they're looking for. If it were me I would insist that I know.
Let us know what happens
