Problems after PM check ups

Hi everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted and your comments have been very helpful. I am coping relatively well with my PM however I continue to experience problems after I have my PM check ups (every 6 months). During the check up the tech revs up my heart to about 120 BPM and then drops it back to the 60 BPM setting. I always feel dizzy and a bit sick when they do that and for a period of several weeks afterwards I have shortness of breath, fatigue and short spells of increased heart rate. For example, I had my check up about a month ago and two nights ago I woke up at 4 AM with my heart racing at 97 BPM. It lasted for about an hour and then went back to 60. Has anyone else had problems like this?

pontiac used to have that happen every time I took it in for service. Changed mechanics. True.
Sorry for the attempt at humor when you have a real problem. Hope everything works out for you.

Problems

Your symptoms sound a lot like mine! But mine are caused by the weirdest things; so far I've added paper shredders and my kitchen (stand) mixer. I've been feeling quite tired and short of breath the last month. In fact, this a.m. I am going in for a visit with my Medtronic tech to see if my PM setting needs some attention. I am at my wit's end. Sometimes wish I had never gotten this thing.

Tell him to do the test slower

most techs do these tests around 90 as long as your heart is going slower than that. The event you had 2 nights ago had nothing to do with a check-up a month ago.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
