Hi All,
In July of 2012 I went to the hospital due to severe syncope, I was admitted due to high blood pressure and low heart rate. The doctors immediately stopped all of my medications for what ever reason. Two days later I had a stroke while in the hospital. During my first few nights my heart kept dropping down to 30 ppm due to bradycardia.
The stroke was contained to rapid response team. The next day they implanted a duel chamber pacemaker. During the past year I had a terrible time adjusting to the pacemaker, till this day I feel every charge.
Two months ago I was admitted to one hospital with high blood pressure and syncope again. I was sent home and told you are ok. The next day I was admitted by my doctor to a different hospital. They found a massive blood clot in the right side of the heart connected on the lead the size of a walnut.
I was transferred to a larger hospital by ambulance where I remained for 11 days. I was put onto Coumadin and sent home. Over the past couple of month the blood thinners did not do a dam thing and my condition got worse. I also have bad COPD as a result of the blood clot obstructing the aorta.
On September 23erd I will having major open heart surgery. Bottom line is that improper placement of the leads will cause blood clots. During the surgery the aorta will be replaced due to damage, an umbrella stent will be placed threw the chambers and the clot will be removed. My expected admission to the hospital will be 14 days the 10 more in rehab. Not so excited here and I pray that God will be with me. Greg

This is a terrible hand you got dealt and I hope everything turns out great for you.
Where was the lead placed? Do you know the anatomical position? I would be interested in this information.
Good luck
so sorry

Well I did it, I had my open heart surgery on September 25th, 2013 and I am home recovering now. My lord whoever said this was gonna be easy can eat these words.
Well they removed the clot on the lead, replaced and or repaired two valves and found a benign tumor in the heart. They also replaced the lead. I pray that this is the end of this for a while. The body can only take so much.
Its been a great ride having all of you there for me. I don't think people understand what it is like to suffer for heart conditions unless your taking the ride yourself.
Well I thank the good lord that I may be around to raise my little children.
God bless you all I need to get ready for Church. Greg
