Getting married

I know others too would have posted about it here or would have tried to. I just want to know about getting into a widding alliance after the pacemaker was implanted on you? Is there anyone who can share the view. Sorry if the question is not welcome.

Boston Scientific

In May we replaced my Medtronic unit with a Boston Scientific. Since then I have been plagued by lightheadedness, headaches and some nausea unless I am lying down or totally still. The Medtronic leads remain. Every imaginable test on me has been performed, and repeated device interrogation indicate normal operation, but my symptoms persist. In a couple of  weeks I am off to the Cleveland Clinic in search of an answer. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Low heart rate - a little help please

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to find some info about bradychardia and heart block from people who have actually experienced it, and I came across this website. I wonder if any of you could help.

I'm 35 years old and have never been diagnosed with any heart-related issues, other than having low blood pressure. However, since I bought a fitness tracker back in January, I have noticed that my resting heart rate is unusually slow - usually between about 46 and 51....

Increase in a-fib symptoms

I was always lucky enough that I rarely had symptoms with my atrial fib.  Since the placement of my PM my symptoms are much more pronounced.  I have more dizziness, more chest discomfort, more palpitations, arm discomfort, shoulder discomfort, just to name a few.  Did anyone else notice an increase in symptoms folliowing their pacemaker placement?

LINQ Loop Recorder Experience?

Hi,

Just wondering who has had a LINQ or other loop recorder implanted.  What was your experience with it?  Is it easy to transmit all the data?  Do the doctors check it every day, week, month...?  Did you have any side effects or problems with the procedure or with the device?  Did they remove it when they were done collecting data?  How did they get it out?

Thanks!

Almost new to the club!!

Heading in Aug. 29 2018 for my pacemaker. How long will it take to return to work? I work overhead with both arms and drive a forklift so my arm/chest/shoulder is in constant motion/turning and twisting. I know each case is different but can anyone ballpark a timeframe? Thank you!!

Trying to get to grips with feeling ill

So I’ve posted before and it’s been helping, I’m coming to terms with the phycological effect that  both my valve repair and pacemaker procedures have had me along with recent bbc news story. physically I’m healing fine. But the problem remains, I just do not feel well, it’s 3:28pm here in the Uk my football team are playing a cup game at Wembley, my family are there and I’m in bed noooo energy, ringing ears, low mood (not yet depressed) wipe...

"Ping...Ping!"

I was sitting quite close to the tv set,  switched off,  when I heard a faint metallic "Ping...Ping..." and so on.

I looked around, nothing nearby to account for it. Felt my wrist pulse,  it was in time with the pulse.  Got up,  ping speeded up with pulse.  Then it faded away.  Not happened since.

Is there a miniature J Arthur Rank man beating a gong inside my pm?  How odd!

I'm mystified.

Dizziness

I had a dual chamber pacemaker and defib. installed about 10 weeks ago.   Pacing was turned on and heart rate changed from 60 to 70 back in mid june.   Everything was fine until I got a case of bronchitis.  They put me on ic bromphenir and a Ventrolin inhaler.  I am basically off of those meds now as the coughing has subsided.

My issue is one of dizziness the last 10 days or so.  It seems like sometimes I get up and move around and I am fine.  Oth...

Is this normal?

I had a PM implanted (mode DDDR) nearly 6 weeks ago for Bradycardia with complete block, at 35 bpm.  Before this all started my normal resting heart rate was around 70 bpm, now it is at 80 or above although my IPG basic rate was set at 60.  My problem is that when I lie on my left side I feel a kind of tapping/clicking in sync with my pulse where I estimate the base of the heart is (below the breast slightly to the left).  This continues until I change position.  Since thi...

What does it feel like to have a pacemaker? And general questions.

Hi there

My name is Scott and I’m new to this forum so thanks for having me.

I don’t have a pacemaker as yet but have been advised to do so.

I have surgery induced type 2 -3 heartblock after 3 ablations for SVT back in 2012.

Im very apprehensive about having a pacemaker placed as I don’t like the thought of it in my chest, and also I will apparently have to be paced frequently as I’m in and out of stage 3 block about 20% of the time.

Feeling so unexpectedly bleak.

I’ve added to a few other people’s postings because I thought I could only post what so many others would have posted before and I was reluctant so start a new post chain, but I need to centre on this terrible bleak flat mood I’m experiencing 11 days post op,   to see if anyone else has experienced the same thing.  Here’s the thing every day for 2.5 years since open heart surgery (8 hours, mitral valve repair, 2days induced comma) I&r...

Longest time

Since 1975 I've had a pacemaker and at 43 years with a battery ..I was wondering what is the longest.. for those of you who thought I I w might be too stupid to realize a battery doesn't last 43 years.. I am not that dim of a bulb.. I was one of the youngest children in 1967 to be put on the Penn State's heart pump. .I received a Tyres Brown pacemaker in 1975.. and it was incited by Dr. Tyres. . that's right the one who invented it. .to the part where you realize I'm not s...

Pace and ablate for Afib -- what are the risks of it not helping?

I'm a 60-year-old woman and have had Afib for 15 years now, with (apart from a few years when a single drug worked) significant effects on my quality of life.

Since I was diagnosed, the doctors and I have worked our way through an entire catalogue of drugs (Beta-blockers, Verapamil, Disopyramide, Diltiazem, Digoxin, Amiodarone, and combinations of all the above). None of them have improved matters with one exception: Disopyramide worked for 4 years, but extended my QT interval so fa...
