LINQ Loop Recorder Experience?

Hi,

Just wondering who has had a LINQ or other loop recorder implanted.  What was your experience with it?  Is it easy to transmit all the data?  Do the doctors check it every day, week, month...?  Did you have any side effects or problems with the procedure or with the device?  Did they remove it when they were done collecting data?  How did they get it out?

Thanks!

I had an Implant for 2 weeks, I am in the UK and the implant I had has a unit that connected to the mobile phone network and automatically transmitted the data each night. This unit had to be close to the bed so it was in range of the implant.

No real side effects, its a small incision, less then 1 cm to put the impant in.

The data is automatically analysed by the computers at the hospital and flags any irregularities for review by the cardio team.

You may well have a small remote to can hold near your implant and press a button to enable the data to be manually flagged if you notice you have any symptoms.

There are also implants that connect using an app on your mobile , in place of the bed side transmitter unit.

It is removed the same way it goes in, they make another small incision and pull it out

Hope this helps

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
