Since 1975 I've had a pacemaker and at 43 years with a battery ..I was wondering what is the longest.. for those of you who thought I I w might be too stupid to realize a battery doesn't last 43 years.. I am not that dim of a bulb.. I was one of the youngest children in 1967 to be put on the Penn State's heart pump. .I received a Tyres Brown pacemaker in 1975.. and it was incited by Dr. Tyres. . that's right the one who invented it. .to the part where you realize I'm not so dim.. 15 batteries later is I'm assuming now the point of Interest since I've had them in both sides of my chest since I was 10 years old. .my doctor.. the head of electrocardio physiology Penn State. dr. David Scher. . took care of me for 25 plus years.. whenever I'm in Penn State at the Hershey Medical Center. .as you can imagine that's heart pump in the main lobby and its first child patient can you create a bit of a stir. .

Welcome! You need to talk to Gellia, she had one of the first two lead devices. Between you, I think the two of you have lived the entire history of cardiac devices. We have one or two others who have been paced that long. My rate stayed in the 40's so they held their breath and watched rather than pacing me as a kid.
Are you treated at Hershey Medical now? I was born in the old Hershey Hospital. Have a lot of family that works there.
You know you're wired when...
You take technology to heart.

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
Wow!

Is it one of the newfangled windup ones or does it use the tried and true weights and pendulum?
That's truly amazing. The shelf life of batteries isn't that long.
