I have contacted this site’s admin with a query. Here is a copy of our exchange:
Hello,
I and many others have a combination CRT and ICD implanted (known as a CRT-D) but we are unable to declare this in our profile. It seems we have to choose one or the other BUT neither is correct!!!
Are you able to add CRT-D to the drop down menu to reflect this need?
Kind regards
Mapleshaz
And their response.....
Thanks for the...

I am 68 and have had a pacemaker for quite a while. I don’t find the pacemaker as debilitating as the drugs that often go along with it. My problem is AFIB. Basically the pacemaker is there to make sure my pulse rate does not go below 60BPM during an attack. I am on Sotalol to limit my pulse rate. Too high and I go into AFIB. I believe that limit and the drugs properties limit my energy level.
With all the drugs, an aging body and a previous hea...

Hi
After having pacemaker now for 9 months and several adjustments, the latest on lowering sensitivity of rate response I suddenly collapsed on Saturday! Rate response was changed 3 weeks ago and I have been feeling very tired for the last two weeks but was fine at work and kept up running and felt ok! Then on Saturday just walking suddenly felt very tired and fainted! ECG and bloods were fine when checked in A&E, but the episode reminded me of the time when I coll...

I have now received my first CRTD (more about that later). I tried to update my profile but the drop down menu only allows for either an ICD or a Defibrillator. How can I indicate that I have a combination called a CRTD?

My PM inplanted 10/6/17. I had some chest pain before the inplant, but they were 10 times worst after the inplant. Have been seeking solution for about a year. Experience chest pain (sometimes a tightness) when walking/exercising. I stop walking for a minute or two and the pain goes away. I walk another 100 yards and the pain returns. I don't have blockages. Started taking Nortriptyline as a treatment for nerves. It seemed to help for some weeks, but the pain has returned. The mystery con...

Nov. 1 was 2 months post surgery. How did I spend the day? A 7.75 Mile hike near Sedona, AZ!! Hoped to share a picture, but don't see how. I had no problems, just normal fatigue. Hubby was tired like I was.
I am still tender at the incision site and can't sleep face down, but it's improving! I was very careful to follow Dr. instructions about limited arm movements after my nurse at device check told me she recently h...

I am new to the club. I'm 3 weeks post op with a duel chamber Medtronic PM for SSS. I have many questions and am grateful to have found this group. My first question is sometimes I feel a heavy heart beat or a thump followed by like electronic feeling in PM area followed by fluttering. What is this and is it normal?

Hi There
Firstly, thanks for allowing me to join this group. A little bit about why I ended up finding this club, back in August we had the Irish Heart Foundation visit the office, we all got out blood pressure \pulse checked and mine showed up as 50 ... lady said to go to dr as I explained I suffer with chest pains, tiredness, headache and dizzy spells
Finally this week I went to the dr who did an ECG and told me to head off to A&E the following day, apparently my heart...

Since we have no choice but to have a device, we might have a sense of humor about it :) I wear this sometimes:

Took horrible fall yesterday flat on my face. Since then I have been experiencing sharp short duration pains in heart area about every 3 to 10 minitues. They are not regular but feel they are getting worse. Just sent print out to Cardiologist using my Latitude and will call him in morning. Not sure if I need to go to ER? Anybody have this type issue. Pacemaker installed this past Feb.

I've had my pacemaker for two years and have had terrible acid reflux ever since. I have had a gastroscope and all is clear. I have beén on Nexium for a year and a half and would like to get off of it. My doctors keep saying the two aren't linked but I think it is more than a coincidence. Has anyone else had this problem and have the doctors found an answer other than medication and diet?

I am French Canadian 🇨🇦 born in 1952 and I am a retired RGN living in South West England for the last 42 years. I was diagnosed with LBBB in 2013 following a routine pre op ECG for a knee Arthroscopy. The GP told me, “Lots of people have that and it’s not a problem!” So for 3 years, I lived in blissful ignorance. I did have SOB but GP said it was Asthma and prescribed inhalers. Then in Spring 2016 I happened to mention LBBB to a locum. Within 3 hours I had an ECG....

I am scheduled for a pacemaker next week. Pulse in the low 50's and lightheadedness, plus a fainting episode which got me a ride to ER in an ambulance. Hoping to eliminate these troubling symptoms and have more energy. I am 71 and like walking, working out and gardening.

Hi everyone! I got my PM 5 weeks ago and will go to my cardiologist for a PM checkup for the first time next week. This will be the first time I have spoken with my cardiologist since the procedure as it was performed as an emergency whilst I was on a mini holiday by other doctors.
My question for all of you, is what kind of questions should I be asking at my appt? It happened so fast, I didn’t have time to think about what was happening. I had an ILR implanted in May t...
