I've taken them, after talking with my doctor. I didn't see any difference so stopped. They may be good for heart function, but don't expect a magic fix.

thanks tracey. i also read (a danger, i know) that you should take the same amount of calcium as magnesium, something about absorption. were you also taking calcium?

Yes

My cardiologist prescribed Magnesium to be taken daily. He was quite insistent actually. In my case I'm taking it as another medication that regulates heart rhythm (as I understand it). The first few months after I had my ICD implanted I still felt a lot of what I call aftershocks. Basically short series of extra beats. That became less frequent as the months went by and to me it feels the Magnesium helped with that.

thanks for ....

I was not so active here for quite a time because of the demands of my work.  However, I find it very necessary to connect here for updates and assistance .  I have my pm for more than 4 yrs already because of Afib which for me is not really a problem.  While everything is going on fine, I would like to ask if there is any of you here had Afib and experience reversal of it so with the taking of medicines esp. blood thinners? I am taking pradaxa since the installation of my pm.
