Throat fullness

I'm less than 3 weeks post pacemaker and for the most part I'm doing okay. I'm able to do most things now but still don't have the energy I used to but that may be a settings issue. Yesterday I started getting like a fullness or pressure deep in my throat along with the occasional center chest pressure that I've felt off and on since the surgery.  What's up with the throat thing? It's uncomfortable.

Moving Forward

Yesterday I completed my first big project since receiving my little friend (PM).  My 2 son-in-laws and I built an 8x20 foot porch with roof on my workshop.  It is a good feeling to accomplish this project. I guess I needed this physical proof that I can still do anything I did before the PM.

Next winter I want to get back on the ski slopes.

Will a pacemaker help or hurt?

I'm a fairly active single, white male, 67 years old. Diagnosed with DVT (blood clots) in both legs at age 65 (Factor V Leiden) and experienced atrial fibrillation at age 66. Baseline ejection fraction is in the 40's (family history? birth defect? virus? it's just always been there near as my doctor can determine based upon an irregular EKG that I've had since I've had EKG). EF was in the 20's during atrial fibrillation. Current EF is in the 30's after 6 month...

Pacemaker and Mris

Twice now doctors have wanted to schedule an mri for me and then changed it to ct scans because of my pacemaker.  I had my Medtronic put in in 2014 and it's supposed to be mri-proof.  I have had them previously, with the pacemaker.  The first time I went for my mri appointment recently,  when asked, I told them yes, I have a pacemaker.  Immediately I was told that they wouldn't/couldn't do it.  That was for a pinched nerve in my neck.  This secon...

Afib attacks at regular intervals

Hi Everyone,  I was looking over my last printout from the pacemaker check up, and I discovered that I am getting an attack of atrial fibrilation on a schedule.  My last 5 attacks were all 94 days apart.  I just had one today and it was 99 days since my last attack.  Has anyone else had this happen to them?  It seems like too much of a coincidence for the attacks to be so evenly spaced out.  Does anyone have any ideas about this?  I really appreciate any inp...

Ways to take your mind of sensation?

I'm 35 and just over 2 years into my first pacemaker for bradycardia and heart block, by fair the best thing to happen to me. I'm a fitness freak, run, road cycle and live in the gym. Last Sunday I had the worst outside run, felt tight chested and ever since I've had feeling of palpitations all week and because I'm aware it sometimes makes me feel sick, to which I've not exercised all week, which is just not me. What tips do people have to take you...

capsule endoscopy/pacemaker

A capsule endoscopy is being considered for me.  I have a pacemaker.  Are there any members with a pacemaker who have had a capsule endoscopy? It would be very helpful to me to know what your experience was like, and whether the capsule endoscopy was done on an outpatient basis.  What I am reading seems contradictory---FDA says no; a 2014 article posted through Medscape says O.K.

Feeling the pacemaker kick in

I feel it every single time.  How are some of you not feeling this??!!  It's not pain but not comfortable really either.  I had my 2nd "interrogation" today and the tech (?) said that the voltage will go down after the leads are well secured in the heart (or something to that effect) and I shouldn't feel it as much.  It's kinda annoying.  But then, so is being dead from an untreated arrythmia...lol.  I'll deal with it.

BP drop

Wednesday it was 138/78 in a doctors office.  Yesterday it was 90/60 in another doctors office.  I know BP will fluctuate but that seems like a huge drop.  So now the doctor reduced one of my meds that I have been taking for 9 years based on the low reading.

Fickle BP?  I don't go back for 6 months so now my questions will have to wait.

So....That was a stress test...??>......

..........I,ve had my Treadmill Test today....underwhelming is a good word.

My old pal IAN MC predicted this.

The process took 8 minutes at 2.5 mph at 12% incline and I was limited to a HR Max of 140....a far cry from my HR Max of nearer 180 using the Hunt Test formula.

But..my Cardiologist who was present was pretty happy with the results because my BP numbers and my BPM recovery rate were all better than expected.  My current TANITA print off gives me a Meta...

Lifting restrictions

I am due to have a crt-d implanted on June 20th. I am very nervous about the surgery and whole lifestyle changes. I have a very low energy so I know that I can't go on and the surgery is needed. I work for a major airline and my job requires me to pick up 70 pounds. Does anyone know realistically will I be able to return to work? I appreciate your comments. Thank you all for educating us newbies.

Another Delay

So...

It took a week to get in to see the EP after my loop recorder detected a 9.7 second stop. The EP scheduled my implant 3 weeks out from that (he went on vacation for the holiday). Now I get a call from the scheduler that they need to move my surgery out another week.

I know it's not their health or life that is impacted, but it seems that they simply don't care. Meanwhile, I am the one that has to live with the shortness of breath, dizzy spells, and constant fear of p...

Tired, anxious and panicky

PM fitted Feb 2017- 2nd degree type 2 heart block. All went well when I got over the shock of requiring a PM age 43!

Returned to work 15 days post op. All seemed to be going well since surgery.

However I am now having increased daily episodes of tiredness, anxiety, palpitations, feeling faint and panicky....almost as if I'm going to have a panic attack and I don't know where all this is coming from. I have had to take to my bed 3-4 times over last few weeks to sleep for go...
