Throat fullness

I'm less than 3 weeks post pacemaker and for the most part I'm doing okay. I'm able to do most things now but still don't have the energy I used to but that may be a settings issue. Yesterday I started getting like a fullness or pressure deep in my throat along with the occasional center chest pressure that I've felt off and on since the surgery.  What's up with the throat thing? It's uncomfortable.

Call and ask if they want to see you. It's probably just normal healing weirdness, but always best to err on the side of caution when it's chest pain/pressure.

The throat symptom is one I've sometimes experienced since receiving the pacemaker, particularly on the left side. At first it concerned me but none of the tests highlighted anything nasty so It doesn't bother me anymore. I don't think it has anything to do with the settings because my pacemaker doesn't even pace unless my heart rate drops below 60 and I'm sure I've had this while my heart rate was above 60.

I agree. Call

I'm with Tracey. I think a call to the doctor is in order.

One question: Do you mean 'fullness in your throat" or do you mean "fullness in your neck?"

Be clear when you talk to the doctor.

Definitely....

.... the base of the throat.  Like deep inside. Talked to the nurse today and she doeant think center chest pressure and the throat pressure is normal.  Seeing the cardiologist at noon tomorrow.

Throat fullness

this was one of the symptoms I had. It would occur when I exerted myself. It would usually start as a fullness up the center of my throat, then if I kept exerting myself it started to feel like a tightness in my chest and then eventually would get worse with continued exertion. It wasn't corrected until a rep from Boston scientific came and changed settings on pacemaker. It's worth looking into. My setting had to do with the amount of time the pacemaker listen and waits to get the signal that your heart had initiated a beat. When the setting is to long the heart ends up initiating a second beat without pushing out the blood from the first beat.

Thanks

I'm with you on the exertion thing. I'm definitely going to show your post to my doctor tomorrow and see what he says. I hope it's something as simple as a setting because I'm tired of feeling awful. Thanks for the advice.
