Another Delay

So...

It took a week to get in to see the EP after my loop recorder detected a 9.7 second stop. The EP scheduled my implant 3 weeks out from that (he went on vacation for the holiday). Now I get a call from the scheduler that they need to move my surgery out another week.

I know it's not their health or life that is impacted, but it seems that they simply don't care. Meanwhile, I am the one that has to live with the shortness of breath, dizzy spells, and constant fear of passing out. I am locked in with them with my insurance carrier (at least until next January), so I can't just change doctors.

Anyone else in the Portland, Oregon area have such a difficult time with the Providence Heart Clinic?

talk to your gp

Does your gp know what's going on? Perhaps there's someone else in your network. There are also different rules if it's classified as an emergency, something else your gp can help with.

certainly there has to be another Electrophysiologist within your network who youi can go to. I had one who kept dragging his feet until my Cardiologist threatened his medical license so what you're experiencing is not that unusual. Do whatever it takes to get this taken care of.

Magic

I contacted the clinic manager and let them know the delay is unacceptable. Magically, she was able to keep my appointment with the same doctor.

If you get delayed and do have an event call an ambulance and demand to be taken to the emergency room. This should stir doctors into action.
