Hi, this question is geared a bit more toward ladies, but I'm certainly open to hearing from men as well.
Since I was looking for a job last year when I got my pm put in, I have kept it quiet to everyone except close friends and family.
With summer coming, I'm wondering if anyone has/had concerns about people seeing the scar from the pm surgery?
I'm self consious about it and trying to find blouses and tops that cover the scar...but with warm, humid air comi...

Hi,
It's been awhile since I have been on this site...it was all so new last year when I had an emergeny pm put in June 2016.
Have you had any similar experience?
I had a lot of trouble going upstairs and hills for about a year before having the PM placed. The doctor thought it would get better after the pm, but I am still having challenges. It is better. I have a long set of stairs going into work which I have gradually forced myself to go up over the past few months. I...

I've been having some sort of weird problem all my life. My cartiologistdiologist just found out I have mitrial prolapse and have tachycardia sometimes with high blood pressure. It's not always but I get week and tired when I do. He put me on altinolo which cause me to panic because it feels like my heart beat is almost nonexsistant. So, the altenolo is causing my bradycardia which I am at 41 beats per minute. I wore a monitor and it showed pauses and low heart rates. He is thinking p...

Hi! New member to the club with two chamber Boston PM surgery about 5 weeks ago. I am 77 male with family curse of heart disease, couple stents 20 years ago, AFIB about 10, and now Mobitz 2 Block for slow heart beat, PM is set for 60. I have taken my pulse at rest for years day and night, it has never been below 59?
Have no symptoms, had the second of two afib episodes over 10 years a couple months ago that self corrected, but the cardiologist had me wear the halter for...

I had my first pacemaker fitted in 2004 and i had a lot of problems with it. My second is nearly at the end of its battery life and has been much better. It paces my heart all the time so im not sure what will happen when they change it. If anybody else has the same situation i would like to hear from them or anybody else who can put my mind at ease.

First time caller- I had my pacemaker inserted in June 2016 due to bradycardia.Developed afib in October-the clinic found it.I didn't even know, On medication Eliquis and Multaq. Just had follow-up appt last week and I am in afib (again? or still?).
I am having my 1st cardiac conversion and am somewhat nervous? I have heard about people needing a few treatments(?). If anyone has words of wisdom and/or calming words that would be cool. Peace Out.

There is a widely held view...and held by many in the medical profession..that an individuals max heartrate during excercise can be estimated as 220 minus age.
I am 67 next month, so.....220-67 = 153.
Today on the treadmill I backed off when I reached 171 bpm..dropped down to 138 on slow speed then repeated to 171...standard Interval Training stuff.
Now, using the 220 minus theory I have a heart of a 49 year old.....?
Also,...my backing off at 171 was by no means me be...

I reached up and grabbed my headboard during the night and am concerned that a lead may have been dislodged -. 4 days after implant-. I've sent data via Medtronic monitor and contacted my Doctor. Would lead reattachment be possible?

Hi all,
I have a question.
does anyone experience episodes of feeling anxious for no apparent reason . I seem to going great for a period of time with my pacemaker then bam out of the blue I develop this nervous feeling and it feels as though my pacemaker is going super fast. I get short of breath and just feel off. It lasts for 2 or more days than just goes away
It doesnt happen often but I'm curious if anyone else has experainced these sorts of feelings since havi...

Just had PM implanted last week. Went for routine check up, found heart rate 35/min with complete heart block. A long winded way of saying I got lucky. Thanks very much to the folks who make this website possible and to those who contribute useful suggestions and share their experiences.
For me, so far the only real problem I have is related to anxiety likely due to my over-thinking most everything!

Hi-
I have been reading through many posts on this website since I found it shortly after my surgery on 3/24/17. One of the posts I read was about medical alert bracelets and someone posted that the website where they store their medical information is engraved on their medical alert jewelry. This way, as changes occur, they only have to change the information on the website instead of changing out their jewelry. Can anyone tell me what website they use?
Thank you,

Hello All,
One month since my first single lead PM. Overall, things have been fantastic!
Just a curious inquiry here. My PM is pacing at 45% of the time which I was told at my 2 week follow up appointment with my EP. I can almost swear I can feel a little' zap' on occasion and only if I am lying or sitting in a certain position (mainly weight bearing to my left side) And again, not every time it goes off, just maybe like once every three days or so....

After reviewing a download from my pacemaker, some of the acronyms I understood or were explained by the Pacemaker club abbreviation list, however many were not. Here’s are two examples.
Episode date time &nbs...
You know you're wired when...
You invested in the Energizer battery company.
