Hi-
I have been reading through many posts on this website since I found it shortly after my surgery on 3/24/17. One of the posts I read was about medical alert bracelets and someone posted that the website where they store their medical information is engraved on their medical alert jewelry. This way, as changes occur, they only have to change the information on the website instead of changing out their jewelry. Can anyone tell me what website they use?
Thank you,
Cathy

Medic alert

I may be wrong, but don't think the AmericanmedicalID website stores medical details as GA-Cathy asks.
In case not fully aware of what Medic Alert offers: the bracelet lists a few lines of engraved text about your conditions and alergies etc, with a 24 hour phone number for paramedics to call for more detail. So my bracelet, for example, tells someone that I am an insulin dependent diabetic, have a replacement aortic valve, am on anti-coagulant and have a pacemaker for Bradycardia. There is then a unique ID and a phone number for the paramedic type person to call for more detail, and the Medic Alert bods know what medication I am on, have my doctor and hospital details, full Pacemaker details, next of kin, etc. I update Medic Alert when any of that changes, but the bracelet remains the same - though you are right: I would need a new bracelet if something else goes wonky ....
Incidentally, although I put down what I thought should be on the bracelet, a medically qualified doctor then called me (same day) and recommended some changes to make it more meaningful to a medical bod, and this didn't delay my order turning up a day or two later. I was impressed. There is an annual subscription cost too if you want the telephone backup service.
Road ID

Road ID www.roadid.com has braclets and other forms that offer more space than other brands that I looked at.
And they have an option online medical file that medic's can access by phone or computer. It is fairly low cost compared to some of the others that I looked at.

Any purchase from that site comes with an online medical record, tho it may not work outside the US. I have the 800 number and a passcode engraved on my id along with PACEMAKER. I can go to the website and log in to update everything from drug allergies and doctors to emergency contacts and insurance. It came free with purchase of an id.
Thanks TraceyE

Sorry for my error. I couldn't see that on the example bracelets etc or on the website, but now found it at the bottom.

Thank you answering my question. After checking out those bracelets for the past 2 days I decided I couldn't bring myself to buy one. They were just not my style but I did buy a charm which gave me the membership to the online health info website. Thanks for letting me know about American Medical ID. I plan to treat myself to a pretty bracelet engraved with the online info.
Thanks again!

pretty bracelets

Cathy, I got the cheapest one from American Medical so I could get the OMR. I've never worn that one, it's ugly lol. Check out these:

https://www.laurenshope.com/
They are interchangeable. I have several colors of tags from N-Style but wear them with bracelets from Laurens Hope. The tags from LH are fatter and I found they flip more easily which drove me nuts. But they have really pretty bracelets.
I also have a durable one from Sport ID with a set of silicone bracelets in a rainbow of colors. I wear those for races, at the gym, at the beach.
I'm all about the cute :o) If it doesn't match my outfit, if it screams medic alert, I'm not gonna wear it.

Thanks for the links! A few days after my surgery I bought one of the Lauren's Hope bracelets and then after that I found out about OMR from a post I read at Pacemakerclub.com. I bought a very sturdy LH bracelet and I plan to get some cute and pretty ones in the future. Something to save up for and look forward to. I'm glad we have some pretty options to choose from!

I have cuter bracelets from other places, but they are all engraved with the info for the OMR here.
