I HAVE A ST JUDE ICD 7 MONTHS LEFT...MY HOSPITAL WILL ONLY DO METRONIC ICD'S NOW IN FLORIDA...MY HOSPITAL IN NY USES ST JUDE... IS ONE BETTER THAN THE OTHER ? DO THEY REPLACE MINE WITH A MRI LEADLESS LEAD ONE?APPRECIATE ANY HELP

They are both excellent, you can't go wrong with either. You want the one your doctor knows best since he's the one who will be taking care of you going forward.
There are leadless pacemakers but they are not icd and if we have traditional leads, we are not candidates for them. There are leadless icd's but if you use it for pacing also, that's not a good choice.
In order to be MRI compatible, both leads and device must be compatible. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, leads would only be replaced when they no longer work. Otherwise, they leave the leads alone and only change out the box.
