I am back - need cardiac ablation

I had my pacemaker inserted in early October.  My pacemaker was inserted for sic sinus syndrome, syncope and collapse.

The hospital that has been monitoring my heart is closing and where the EP doc is going I do not know.  To beat the crowd rushing to look for new docs, etc I made an appointment with an EP at a large hospital in New Orleans.  I saw him today.

I know that my heart beat has been irregular since before Sept.  When the PM rep checked my pacema...

ERPM: a new App for pacemaker and ICD recipients.

Dear all, I want you to know that on Googleplay store there is an Android App named ERPM.

The acronym stands for “Environmental risks for Pacemaker and ICD” and it is an application for pacemaker and ICD recipients. This application has a list of objects that you can encounter, in the home - or outside - environment, or some diagnostic and therapeutic procedures usually present in healthcare environments. All of these are potentially able to generate an electromag...

PM Data as Evidence

Read a short blurb in the newspaper today about a guy in Ohio who was charged with arson. The authorities got a search warrant "to retrieve electronic data stored on his cardiac pacemaker .... during and after the fire." Seems he said he noticed the fire, then packed a bag, threw the bag out the window and then carried the bag to his car. A "cardiologist said it was highly improbable, with his medical condition, that he could do all he said he did in the short time indicated.&q...

new pm implant members

Implant:  At first it's scary but if you take your time and listen to the professonals especially if your an athlete things will get better. I was shocked to find so many health people with pm devices. It's hard to suddenly realize things have changed. Each person is a little different some of us are worse then others. If one fellow member runs everyday and another has difficulty walking several blocks those are the warning indications one must learn to respect and make the adjus...

Feeling Fine

Have had a long hard road. It started last April. Between April and November I had to get cardioverted 3 times, was paced out of an arrhythmia once and had ablations number 5 and 6. Just saw my EP for a 3-month follow up and everything looks good. Had 4 little blips since December, but not long enough to even record on my PM. The Doctor cut my Flecainide in half to 50mg twice a day. He also wanted to keep me on Xeralto just to be safe. I’ve not needed long-term medication in the past. B...

Introduction

Hi everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm 21 with medtronic pacemaker that I've had for four years. I was born with an AV canal defect (the condition occurs when there's a hole between the hearts chambers and problems with the valves that regulate the blood flow in the heart), coarctation of the aorta (the narrowing of the aorta), instestinal malrotation, and polyspleenia (I have five smaller spleen branches rather than one large spleen. I was given the diagnosis of havi...

Chest feels weird sometimes when I ride in a car or walk fast

I recieved my pacemaker when I was seventeen, almost four years ago. When I first went back to school after being off for a week, I had to ride the bus to a college where I went half day for this program. On the way to the college my chest would feel weird and it would feel weird to breath, almost like I could breath clearer. I brought it up to my cardiologist and pacemaker specialist and they acted like it was nothing. I figured it was just the new pacemaker settling in still. Four years lat...

left handed getting pacemaker on left side and worried.

I finally am getting a pacemaker on Thursday.  I have bradycardia in the night 30's to 40's.  Because of this I cannot get the proper dosage to hopefully prevent A-fib.  I have had cardioconversion 4 times since 2/2015.  Been putting if off to long after my last a-fib episode last week I can't deal with it anymore.

My doctor says it is time for a pacemaker as he has told me long ago but I just didn't listen.  Now I am ready don't need to go t...

Cpap

Hi y'all I got my pacemaker in December 2016. Ever since I have had it, my sleep apnea numbers have been going up. Not severely but much higher than they were. My heart rate is set at 60. I am waking up of after 3am now. Do you think higher heart rate has something to do with it? Before pacemaker it would heart rate would drop into forties at night. Now it can't. Anyone else here have a CPAP machine. I don't know if I should call sleep doc or heart Dr about this. If anyone knows,m...

Kids pacemaker

Hi my son is 9 years old and has a pacemker for third degree heart block. He's had it for nearly 5 years now and is fit and well.

He's had 2 episodes now of his airway becoming blocked and being unable to breathe in his sleep. The first time it happened I panicked a bit and thought he was having a seizure but he came around out of his sleep quickly and was ok but a little shaky. I took him to the hospital and he was throughly checked and all was ok. It happened again yeste...

Hi all, new here.

Hi all, new to the forum.

I had a dual pacemaker fitted in November after collapsing a couple of times whilst out walking/hiking. I had no previous indications I had any issues. I am a male and 47 years old.

I was in hospital for 15 days, long story, lots of checks, MRI etc before being fitted with an essentio mri dr pacemaker.  My first question, after leaving hospital i was really rough for weeks and struggled to get back into my...

Biotronik Eluna Pacing

I could probably post this query in a number of areas, settings, sports related, etc. But, I'll try here first. In Nov, 2016, my Medtronics pacemaker reached end of life and was replaced with a Briotronik Eluna 8 DR-T device. The model was recommended by my cardiologist primarily because I was getting poor rate response from the Medtronic when cycling, my primary form of exercise. I received a catheter ablation in Nov 2010. During which my sinus node was pretty much burned away. Since I&#...
