Feeling Fine

Have had a long hard road. It started last April. Between April and November I had to get cardioverted 3 times, was paced out of an arrhythmia once and had ablations number 5 and 6. Just saw my EP for a 3-month follow up and everything looks good. Had 4 little blips since December, but not long enough to even record on my PM. The Doctor cut my Flecainide in half to 50mg twice a day. He also wanted to keep me on Xeralto just to be safe. I’ve not needed long-term medication in the past. Beside the 6 ablations, I was one of the first Maze patients back in 1991. I’ve also been cardioverted over 35 times. The doctor felt that even though I have had my left atrial appendage removed, that with all the work I have had  done on my heart, the Atrium just doesn’t work as well as it should. He also moved my PM rate from 50 to 60. Thought it might help me stay in sinus. Did put it on 50 from 11:00pm to 6:00am. Also, moved my rate response from low to medium. Since my last ablation, my heart doesn’t seem to be speeding up as well as it did. Takes a little getting used to having the RR moved up.

Net result, I’m feeling fine. Back to working out 5-6 days a week, doing spin classes, lifting weights, playing tennis etc.

Modern medicine is really great. My heart takes a liking and keeps on ticking.
