Hi all, new here.

Hi all, new to the forum.

I had a dual pacemaker fitted in November after collapsing a couple of times whilst out walking/hiking. I had no previous indications I had any issues. I am a male and 47 years old.

I was in hospital for 15 days, long story, lots of checks, MRI etc before being fitted with an essentio mri dr pacemaker.  My first question, after leaving hospital i was really rough for weeks and struggled to get back into my life. I was layed up a lot and my BPM always hovered around the 63 bpm mark. My pacemaker is set to 60 bpm.I went for my 6 week check up and was told my pacemaker was working at 100%, ie totally reliant on it. After 7 weeks or so I started to try and do a bit more and noticed my bpm rarely drops below 68 now and is often in the 70's and 80's.  Does this mean I am not relying on the pacemaker as much or do they track?   I am still experiencing missed beats, my blood pressure monitor picks them up too but they are very obvious to me, fluttering below my sternum, worries me at times.

I have lots of questions but will leave it at that for now : )

     Thanks

Your device should be tracking and recording what percentage of time it is pacing, just ask at your next interrogation.

Anyone?

Anyone else getting the palputations in the sternum area?  Struggling to get my blood pressure down. Diastolic seems to have risen substantially since the implant.

You know you're wired when...

Your license plate reads “Pacer4Life”.

I am just thankful that I am alive and that even though I have this pacemaker it is not the end of the world.
