It is New Year's Eve here in Australia. 2012 was a difficult year for myself. I am feeling optimistic that next year will be better. Our house is on the market and please fellow pm members could you say a prayer to St Joseph for us or any other prayer,or positive thinking that it will sell soon. My husband is suffering awful problems with glaucoma. He is waiting to see if he has to have the trapdoor operation on his left eye in order to arrest the blindness that is developing. We need to...

Hello,
My name is Andy and I'm 24 years old. This past weekend I went in to see my doctor to discuss some results from a heart monitoring test I did in the beginning of December. The test showed that there were periods where my heart rate dropped to 41bpm and then would shoot back up to 173bpm. My personal physician is very concerned and is sending me to a cardiologist this upcoming week. My doctor wants me to stay down and take it easy until I can see the cardiologist. She told me th...

Just to say that I got home late last night. Hurting bad today due to having another hickman put in.
Now I have two IV pumps hooked up to me. One for the dobutamine and the other for a IV antibiotic for the staff infection I have in my blood.
Came very close to the point that they were about to remove my pacemaker and wires. They are thinking the infection is attacking it. I will have to have blood test twice week to keep track.
Other then the hurting from were they p...

Before my first pacemaker, my HR was 32. I am 4 years and
2 1/2 months into my third device. They wear out rather quickly since they pace 98% of the time. I have gotten to the point where I can hardly do anything. It is difficult to breathe, fatigue, back pain, and unable to stand or walk more than a few minutes at a time. Running the sweeper is enough to send me to bed for an hour. They are going to do a heart cath on 12/31. When I had my interogation this week there were three alerts, t...

December 21, 2012
Patients suffering from arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats, might one day be able to restore their heart's normal rhythm with the injection of a single gene. The experimental gene stimulates the creation of a natural heart pacemaker, doing away with the need for an implanted electronic device to regulate the heartbeat. The technique could be a major step forward in the q...

Greetings to all!
So I still have insurance but ran out of money. Called AHA (American Heart Association) and they could offer nothing of any value..typical NPO. Called Medtronics who is the maker of my device...no help either. A pacemaker is not like an alternator or a starter or a tie rod on my car...this device keeps me alive but now, like my vehicle, I guess I am waiting for the tow truck to take me to the "Junkyard"!
The health care reform act is a joke folks. I have...

Pete, (name of my Pacemaker) made his first phone call to automatically report his condition, to some unknown machine out in the ether. Should I be expecting some answer back from somewhere?? Like maybe EMail?

To the Golfers of our PM club:
Could you guys please tell me, how long did you have to wait to start Golfing after your PM placement, and how soon could you do a full swing?. Is there any advice or pearls you can give me as how slowly to start and how to avoid problems. I'm grateful to you.
Abbass
