Should I change doctors

It has been a while since I posted here and now I have a question about change my heart doctor. I have had my pacemaker for almost 10 years now and had had it replaced in May of 2010. I am a 66 year old male.
I feel that she does not listen to me anymore and keeps pushing me to try taking statins even though I have tried every one of them and always get the same results, muscle aches and feeling like I have the flu all the time when I take them. I have taken Niaspan on and off for 10 years...

Sharp Pain Question

I have had the 2 lead pacemaker for two and a half years for SSS. First few weeks I had some stabing type pains but that stopped. Only occasionally after that I would feel a little blip but nothing most of the time. Last couple of weeks I get a series of rather sharp pains in pacemaker/heart area and then it stops. I hate it when it happens when I am in the grocery with my gradson like just now. I see the actual cardiologist for a regular checkup in a week and it's not easy to get a appoin...

Doing Better

Just a quick update. I had written previously about getting the pacemaker Sept. 27 and for 6 solid weeks I had major PVC's and PAC's that were driving me crazy and keeping my up at night. I was getting very little sleep and the stress was terrible. Finally got the doctor to listen and he made some adjustments to the settings on my pm. Things improved some but a few days later it's like something clicked and everything was ok again. I still have some irregular beats now and then but it doesn't la...

Hello

I just was recently diagnosed with CHF in June of this year. with ef of 20-30%. Went home from that and a month later went to Maine on a business trip for 2 months. bp would drop to as low as 90/50 range with pulse as low as 60 sometimes lower. Toes would sometimes turn blue when sleeping but would recover as soon as I woke up and moved around.
Came back in sept and saw cardiologist, asked if I was getting tired. not so much in normal daily use. do find that when it comes time for exert...

Newbie from NY

Hi, I'm 45 yrs. old and had a pacemaker put in three years ago. Due to having congestive heart failure a few times, and a long history of heart issues, my Cardiologist thought it was best. Since then I find my pacemaker shift a bit, not as in place when I had it first done. Looking for anyone's experience and or thoughts on this. Thanks tammy101

Can I have my pacemaker removed?

Hello all,
I'm 28 and had my pacemaker inserted three weeks ago. The first week was very difficult. I felt extremely sore and began to get very depressed.
When the dressing came off I cried as it made me realise that this is part of me for the rest of my life. I was very positive about it before the operation as the doctor and other people with pacemakers said it would change my life, give me more energy, stop the dizziness and fainting.
However, I still feel dizzy all the time,...

Two questions

Hello there,
Recovering well, and quite pleased. I have a couple of questions that I hope can be resolved.
- How many of you have gotten Medical Alert bracelets? Is it something I should consider?

-. Does anybody know what the consequences of being zapped by a tazer would be for a pacemaker?

Puzzling Readings on Oximeter

A WORD OF THANKS for all of you long time users of a PM. You are a real help to those of us who are just getting started. You've already answered many questions for me. Keep up the good work. A couple questions (my mother always said I ask too many questions – bear with me.)

I have a Boston Scientific (BS) ALTRUA 60
S606 DDDR for my SSS and LBBB (I'm learning the abbreviations.) BS says that my unit has Ventricular Rate Regulation (VRR) for atrial arrhythmia management

PAIN

I've posted a couple of topics on my pacemaker. I had my check-up today and they said that the leads are finally in place.

* I've had diaphragmatic stimulation today which has baffled me so*

BUT anyway, the pain had become unbearable. It starts at the tips of of a corner of my pacemaker generator site. It is really sensitive and then it gets really really sharp near my armpit. the area is visibly swollen but only slightly warm to touch.

I'm gonna start crying cus...

Calif patient rights

For what it is worth this is a .pdf document with your rights as a patient in California. Many states have similar laws. I don't know what the Affordable Care Act changed or added to these.
