I've posted a couple of topics on my pacemaker. I had my check-up today and they said that the leads are finally in place.
* I've had diaphragmatic stimulation today which has baffled me so*
BUT anyway, the pain had become unbearable. It starts at the tips of of a corner of my pacemaker generator site. It is really sensitive and then it gets really really sharp near my armpit. the area is visibly swollen but only slightly warm to touch.
I'm gonna start crying cus i can't anymore. Although I'm 17, i have a really high pain tolerance and was not bothered much by the 3 surgeries. But I feel so frustrated! What should I do?? Also, my mom takes a bit of convincing to go to any hospital

Youve had quite the bad time of it all,for that I feel bad for you, doesnt sound right all the problems youve had to deal with.
Im no expert here by any means,it sounds odd they boot you out of the hospital right after surgery, and especially tato be monitored afterwards.Just makes sense to me.Maybe you do have some type of not so normal tissue or shape that made it difficult for the surgeon,or maybe you need to go elsewhere.
I know with insurance and you living in Puerto Rico that might make your options limited,I would if you were my child, find another option.
I had 2 instances after my PM surgery that landed me in the ER,and it was frustrating to me,and my family.I am trying to imagine your frustration, something just sounds not right to me.
I am lucky I believe to have been able to have my heart taken care of at the Cleveland Clinic at their main campus in Ohio.I have total faith in knowing that I couldnt have been in a better place for what I needed to have done.
I feel good these days, going on 5 months now w/the computer in my chest, been a different road to travel for sure, and I still think sometimes that there's always a chance of something happening that I cant avoid.
Stay strong,if you dont feel like you know you should, demand something to be done. Its your life, and make your parents listen, you know how you feel.
I hope youre doing better, will keep you in my prayers.

Hey guys

Well I texted my cardiologist and he told me to come in. So i passed by the office today and thankfully the pain had subsided substantially by the time i got to the office. I think Toradol had something to do with it.
UPDATE: They turned off my atrial lead today due to it malfunctioning.
I currently have a Holter Monitor on for arrhythmias I've been feeling today ( they were really bad today so I told the doctor and he wanted to be sure of everything so he put it on). Now, tomorrow is Sunday so I have to personally take the monitor off and put it in a bad until delivering it on Tuesday to the office. There, he will read the results.
On another note, my Thanksgiving week is filled with lots of school work ( havent gone to school since Nov. 2 I think)...yeah, not fun.
Thank you guys for caring!!!
Glad your doctor is listening now

It is just over 10 years since a dual lead device was implanted for complete heart block. It has worked perfectly and I have traveled well near two million miles internationally since then.

That is so not right. Please please go for a check up with your EP, or GP or anyone who will listen. You could have an infection, even if it is low grade, it would give you grief. Also you could be feeling the electrical impulses, which are not dangerous but annoying, or it could be anything.
Whatever it is you should not be in so much pain. If one doctor says you are ok then find another. Tell your Mum that you really do need to get this sorted. At 17, you are still young!
Please let us know how you go.
