It's all good! Newer pm's are very well shielded so this is rarely an issue. There are almost no home appliances that will affect the pm. The problem is magnets, not interference. That white thing they put over it to test it? That has a magnet in it that pulls a switch closed and puts it in test mode. If we get too close to a magnet, we might put it in test mode. But! The magnet has to be strong enough and usually less than 4-6" from the pm. Even if we happen to get too close to a magnet, as soon as we get away from it the switch opens and it goes back to full function with no harm done.
Some more conservative drs say carry cell phones on the right side, don't get an ipod near it. I talk on my phone holding it with my shoulder right over my pm. I clip my ipod shuffle right over my pm to go running. I read in bed and prop my ipad or kindle on my chest. My ipad has a magnetic cover... nothing bothers it!
If he complains he feels funny, get whatever he's playing with more than 6" from his pm and he should feel fine again. I am a total electronics geek and have had a pm for almost 20 yrs now, I've never found an electronic gadget that affects it. The only thing I'm careful about is security monitors in stores. I walk through them but don't linger.
thank you

iPods or iPads

Which is it?
I have never read of anyone here having interference problems w/ either product.
If a device is digital - & they are - they must meet stringent FCC regs on how much stray RF energy they radiate. Just to protect us from interference w/ our PM's and any other critical electronic devices.
There are lotsa iPod/iPad ownres & users who will attest to their safety.
