I am 50 year old guy with 5 young kids, I had my PM put in five months ago. Recently I have had alot of stress and I have been waking up earily with severe blood pressure spikes like 169/116. I have been taken nitro to bring it down. I also take BP medications twice a day along with an array of other heart and anti stroke medications. I have bradycardia and have had many mini strokes along with a severe one this year.
During the day my pacemaker is working overtime and I actually feel it wh...

Hi!
I'm 29 years old, and I had a St. Jude rate responsive dual chamber pacemaker placed in 2007 after a total sinus node ablation due to supraventricular tachycardia, after several failed partial ablations. Over the past few days I have felt my heart rate racing during exercise. My max is set to 110bpm, and no higher because the doctor is concerned of a triggering of SVT if the ablation were to fail again.
I can count it beating near 140bpm during simple exercise, with so...

Hey! I'm sorry I haven't been on in awhile. I have been trying to work and still adjusting to my new friend. I have been feeling really good lately. I was put on nadolol because my heart rate was very high at times when I was just laying or relaxing. Since the medication I have been feeling pretty good. Until this week I have been feeling like I am dragging and sick like I have the flu. I just feel out of it? I may just be coming down with something but I'm extremely dizzy and having alot of sob...

Hi, am new to this site. I am a 58 year old female. Last year I had aortic valve replacement surgery, aortic repair, developed a blood clot , then had pacemaker installed all within 2 weeks. The pacemaker has been an emotional battle for me because I was not prepared for it, I am thin and it sticks out of the skin which is uncomfortable. I am not an athlete by any means but I do exercise almost daily and when its nice outside I like to take leisure bike rides. I started out with the normal...

While on a recent trip sitting in the airport, my defib began activating. It went off and continued to activate every 3 to 4 minutes for an hour and a half, a total of 25 times. Needless to say, not a lot of fun. After bringing my heart rate down it stopped, but the best answer I could get from my cardiologist is that the settings were wrong and filters were not turned on. After reprogramming peramiters it won't happen again!
.
I am terrified this may happen again. I never exper...

I had a defibrillator (Guidant ICD Model T177; Guidant Lead Model 0185) implant surgery in May, 2007. Since then, I have had burning pain and tingling sensations in both arms from my elbows to my fingers. My doctors does not believe the pain relates to my ICD. They think it is nerve damage. Recently, I had an EEG (nerve conduction test) and myelogram cat scan of my cervical spine. Both test were negative. My neurosurgeon says the only thing he can do now is to remove my ICD and do an MRI o...

Ok I had my pacemaker implant on October 12th this year due to low heart rate and stopping heart rate.
Was a healthy person prior to this fast onset.
So now my ponder is I can feel in my neck and side typically when the pacemaker is pacing the atrium, but lately I've been having pain/ discomfort seemingly at the bottom of my rib cage radiating up into my chest..
Anyone else experience this?
I have been trying like hell to remember to not lift alot and limiting movement...

After 8 years with my first pacemaker, it was time to replace it. My second pacemaker was replaced in the beginning of October. My cardiologist is fantastic and I've been with him for years --- so I completely trust his work.
The issue is that since it's been replaced, I feel as if I'm getting stung. Some days, nothing at all happens. Other days, it's random 'stings' all day. On a few occasions, the 'sting' has been surprisingly sharp.
Has this occurred to anyone else? Any advice...

I've poster here before of my complications from my PM surgery. Long story short, afer i got my 1st PM surgery on NOV.5, I went under two more times for lead repositioning. I'm Day 17 post op. A couple of days ago, my cardio did an echo and it showed that the atrial lead was free and nearing the tricuspid valve. That lead is already shut down- it never really worked, and because it was stimulating my diaphragm, they shut it off.
The EP agreed to get rid of it. During my EP visit, I...

Well I had my angiogram and am now in the observation area for the next 4 hours. Don you were right ... Once again. I worked myself up into a frenzie for nothing. The test went so very well. I didnt feel a thing.
The hole in my heart is so insignifigant nothing needs to be done to fix it. Mt ejection fraction is good and the slight enlargement from my heart is probably from the surgeries i had when i was little. Other than that my coronary arteries are perfect. My valves are all wor...

Since my pacemaker was put in I have been off balanced. Two doctors assured me it's not the heart or the pacemaker. I feel like I am floating on a boat most of the time. Now I am seeing a Chiropractor, instead of a Neurologist. I have had seven adjustments but still feel Dizzy. I am so unhappy, I have been feeling this way for three months. Has any one else experienced this problem? Please let me know.

I am having some pain when I breathe. The deeper I breathe the worse the pain. I thought I was getting a sore throat, but swallowing doesn't hurt. It hurts slightly in my ears, down my throat and down through the sternum. I will be having surgery tomorrow morning ( unless this interferes) to adjust my bottom lead. Could this problem with pain breathing have anything to do with the top lead? Of course I'll be checking with my Dr. Today but since it's too early to check Im hoping to get feedback...

Well I finally spoke to the cardiologist today about why exactly he ordered a Angiogram for me , which by the way is scheduled to this friday to my surprise. The reason why he ordered it was to measure the hole still in my atrium and because the noticed that the left ventricle of my heart is slightly enlarged ... OMG ... what could this be ??? I am in total panic mode, I read up on it and everything points to heart failure , why is this all happening to me at 30 when I have 4 kids to take care o...

I just recently received a Biotronix Dual Lead Pacemaker and had an immediate complication with the lower lead to the heart chamber. It read well at time of implant, within a few days the lead had dropped in reading from 10 to 3.5 and we had to redo the surgery a week later to reattach the lead. Again it read a 9 at time of surgery but within less than a week it dropped to 3.4. Now they are considering doing it again. Has anyone out there experienced this? I am losing all faith in the unit...

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
