Excuse me while I vent!!

So for the past three days I have been feeling pretty badly.. Thought I was getting sick. Two nights ago I woke up with horrible chest pain my whole arm in so much pain (just thought I fell asleep on my arm) the next day I was fine until the pain came back it comes on quickly and I feel horrible and then it goes away. I called my doctor yesterday he never returned my call. I was about to go to the er and I figured let me text him first. I texted him he calls back saying he didn't believe it was my heart??? I said I'm having chest pains? He must've had a bad area because the 7 minute phone call I could've fixed myself!! He didn't even say much just kept askin me what was wrong how long it was lasting? .. I said what should I do if it returns go to the er.. He said I can't tell you not to go???? What does that mean I said do I need to and reply the same as before!! He has never done this he is usually very understanding and caring tonight was like I was someone he didn't even see.. The I asked could it be the side effects to medication he asked what medication? Okay I feel better letting it out .. I feel okay now if it happens again you will be reading another post from an er bed! Thankyou for listening to me!!

Considering your past history...

... You should have been in the ER.

Any Dr. who tells you that is not a good care giver. He can no longer diagnose you over the phone than I can.

You belong in the ER.

Good vent

Go to the ER if you are worried. Its your body and your pain. Honestly there is something wrong with these dr's communication skills. I think its because they are terrified that we will find out they don't actually know what they are doing most of the time and are flying by the seat of their pants.
I hope it was a twice off and doesn't come back. Hope mot to hear from you from the ER!
Good luck.

ER or 2nd Opinion

by Grateful Heart - 2012-12-13 10:12:06

Even the doctor that I fired told me to meet him at the ER. Granted, he showed up 24 hours later and ignored what I told him and did not order an Echo, which would have showed the fluid around my heart...but what did I know. But, at least he did tell me to go to the ER...I always give credit where credit is due...LOL.

Seriously, ER or 2nd opinion. Good Luck,

Grateful Heart

Definite ER visit

by LaGabzyrella - 2012-12-19 03:12:39

I went to ER's over and over with my symptoms. I was eventually referred to a psychiatrist. After one visit with a curious cardiologist it turned out I had a severe case of Superior Vena Cava syndrome. I'm not saying this is what you have. Merely stating you know your body better then the doctors.... stay persistant if something doesn't feel right.

Thankyou guys

Just got out Of the hospital today .. My doctor never came to see me he kept calling the house doctor .. He changed my beta blocker .. My pacemaker showed fast beats while resting so they said it could've been that or a panic attack. I never suffered from panic attacks and it may have been one but that doesn't mean I should've have went to the er that's how my doctor made it seem like I was wasting everyone's time .. I'm 22 years old do you think I want to miss work and be stuck in the hospital for days just because I think it's fun? I wasn't feeling well regardless what the reason I know my body .. And it turned out to show the medication I was on before the new one wasn't working so I knew something was wrong. I know these doctors aren't miracle workers but come on? Very upsetting but I'm out and in my own bed!! Hopefully this will work! But I'm very grateful it was nothing serious I'm alive so it could be worse! And I thankgod for that .. Hope you guys are feeling okay and have a nice holiday!

Trust your gut

When you said you are 22 years old....bells and whistles wewent off. MD's don't want to believe that 22 year olds have heart problems. Especially if you are a woman. I had my arrest at 35 years old. I felt like et in the hospital. Every single cardiologist came to see me. I felt like a freak.....I now use the word "phenomenon". Just sounds better. I've been fortunate to have MD's that did more listening than talking. Don't be afraid to ask for another doctor. Never firget, you are the consumer. You might have to remind the doctor of this too.

You know you're wired when...

You prefer rechargeable batteries.
