I am new to the group and world of pacemakers and have been reading posts on here that come up when I search in google. After having relatively sudden and idiopathic complete heart block, I received a dual chamber pacemaker mid October this year. All work ups were negative for any cause for the heart block and my heart muscle and vessels are healthy. The whole thing came on quickly out of the blue over a course of 2-3 weeks escalating the last week to where I could not work and went to see th...

Hi again. I posted a few days ago and since then have an update. I had a heart halter monitor on me a week ago and was told yesterday that they found something on the read out. What I found out is that my pacemaker wasn't quite doing it's job as far as connecting my heart to work together. I had third degree electrical blockage to start with and the pacer was to make the upper chambers work with the bottom chambers. Well yesterday I saw that my heart is not yet working together and in fact the...

Hi everyone! I had my third pacemaker put in with dual leads and got a blood clot during surgery. I am on Xaralto and just curious how long it took any of you for your clot to go away. Also are you still taking blood thinners, or were you able to get off of them?

Wondering if anyone out there has had rapid heart rates & shortness of breath. I am a runner and I've had my pacemaker since May, I get very short of breath walking up stairs or any increased activity. I just got done wearing another event monitor to capture my episodes. I am just very frustrated.

Hi I've had my pm for 16 months and in 17 days I've got to go and have an angioplasty operation because the veins that my pacemaker wires in have collapsed which has restricted my blood flow and now have little use in my left arm (same side as pm is fitted) has any body else experienced anything similar to this that could perhaps share there story/experience with me please x

I am 31 years old and have 5 year old daughter but was TIRED ALL the time and wore out so the options were meds which I didnt want or Pacemaker, I choose the pacemaker and they did what they called Biventricular pacemaker and now I am dependent to the pacemaker. But I am still having...

Hi everyone,
Cardio doc is concerned my pacer is poking out too much. My skin is stretching thin (the skin is white instead of pink) over an area of the pacer. It is sticking out because I am quite thin, 5'2", 98 lb. Also my work is quite physical (massage therapist) which can often contract the pectorals and push the device against the skin. If I had 20 more lbs on me t wouldn't stick out but I eat a lot but the weight does not stay on. He's considering placing it under the pec musc...

Hi All,
I had my PM implanted 7/29/13 due to lymes carditis with complete heart block. It is true, I was bitten by a tic and it caused my heart block. Anyway, I feel like I am always out of breath and I wanted to know if anyone else has this issue. It is very uncomfortable and makes me anxious but then just having a PM is making me anxious. I am having trouble learning to live with my new friend. If I could not feel out of breath all the time I think things would be better but still, after...

I was on Flecainide for some time before I had my Pacemaker installed on Sept 20. In the hospital they put me on amiodarone and my heart rate was 70 for three weeks. Then I had an echo to follow up on my cardiomyopathy, which was gone, but the found that I may have pulmonary hypertension.
The cardio put me back on Flecainide instead of amiodarone. In the week since my heart rate has been in high 80 to low 90s.
I see him Monday to get my initial readout from the pacer and...
